Someone get me back into PC Gaming... Please?

PC market seems to be obsessed with multi-player loot based games which do nothing for me.

Give me a single player game with a decent story and I'm happy, the less stuff to collect the better.

Ditto, couldn't give a stuff about being shouted at by a 12 year old in an online shooter. Similarly, PUBG leaves me cold. Would much rather a single player game.

I am exactly like this, I love the traditional games with a strong single player.

And yet I'm addicted to solo Rust (because I have no gamer friends).

My advise? Stop gaming.

Its becoming a absolute train wreak.
Never!

There is so much choice and there is so much time in a day one can game. More than enough stuff to keep one entertained and I don't even do multi-player much.

One of the things I love about PC gaming is you can come back and play old games you like as everything is in my steam catalogue :)

If you like Ark then you might like DayZ Standalone (ignore the haters). Game is about to hit beta around Christmas/New Year and there are some great community servers to get involved with. I've never been a single game person but I'm now nearly 600 hours in (after around 1 year) and still absolutely love it.

Arma 3 seems to be getting a bit of a resurgence lately and probably one of the better modded games out there.

PUBG is another good one but currently a bit too 'rinse & repeat' for me, given there is only one map at the moment.

Certainly regarding the first two mentioned above, it is well worth getting involved in the community side - I have met some great people through DayZ and some that I would absolutely class as good friends.

For a casual 1/2 hour game (and as I got them cheap) I've been playing a bit of Rocket League and Speedrunners or even a bit of CS:Go (I enjoy a bit of time in the practice maps to hone my PvP skills).

There is a lot of choice, if you want older games. Or games before 2017.

But you are looking forward, gaming is pretty much ruined.
There are quite a few I am looking forward to in 2018/19 personally :)

But each to their own I suppose.

I'm quite enjoying shadow of mordor, especially since i picked it up for the bargain price of £5. i think i will be quite tempted to get the new once i've finished up

Some great suggestions in here, keep them coming I think its not only me that is reading this wondering what to play next... Gonna hold on for the steam sale and see what that brings hopefully get a load of games and become interested again, I will defiantly be getting a ton of games that yous have mentioned here, single player and multiplayer...

I've tried a few times to get back into gaming now, failed every time, mainly I think because I've no interest in the games like you mention, but I also seem to have much less attention span than I used to.

I used to be able to get into a game even if I didn't know how to play it and took lots of reading/research. Now I just can't be arsed.

Don't even have a PC capable of gaming any more, that's how much interest I lost.

Think I've got too old for it all.

I very rarely game now, possibly due to age but most of time its just because I find the game dull. CBA with all this collecting stuff and building up your character, I just want a story to escape in for a few hours.

A few gems have bought me back though, currently playing stories untold which was on sale and enjoying that as its a bit different.

I stopped playing CS:GO a long time ago, and was tempted by PUBG just never went to buy it... FPS's really do my head in half the time

PUBG is one of those games where you could die within 40 seconds but still have had a lot of fun or die after 40 minutes after doing various things like looting crates, looting dead bodies, swapping gear, etc. chasing blue for 30 minutes.

Another shout for VR. Truly is the future and its here now.
But seriously, if there is anything that can bring the spark back, it Vr.
Same kind of spark going from 2d sprites to 3d polygons, then there was the advent of 3dfx with its fancy effects and high framerates.... Now we have VR, and it's cheaper than the new gen games console, and it is 100x more memorable than more of the same :p

Come to thonk about it, I think ark supports vr but im not sure how well they have supported it.
