Someone get me back into PC Gaming... Please?

My non VR games are Rust and PUBG with friends.
But now I mostly spend my gaming time with an Oculus Rift strapped to my face, it’s impossible to even start explaining just how good and immersive VR is, absolutely incredible, and this is with a lack of AAA VR games available, it’s mostly indie and small teams, but there are some absolute gems out there, Playing a huge budget FPS game is boring after being immersed so much you feeling like your in the game. which is made by only 1 guy..!

Not a racing game but Mad Max is a great game if you haven't played it. Lot's of driving, and driving based combat as well. I had a blast when I played it.

I'd second this. I've just given it another play through

Destiny 2 soon, should be good.

For now pubg would probably suffice if supplemented with another title as it is a game you need to take a few breaks from here and there.

The obvious suggestion would be PUBG, i'd also suggest giving Team Fortress 2 a go especially now it's free.

Outside of shooters or racing, how about strategy games? I recently bought Civ 6 and it's incredibly addictive in a 'one more turn' way, i've enjoyed playing it.

A skill based shooter is more stressful than a loot based one? You lose in CSGO it's on you, you lose in PUBG half the time it's because they had better gear than you lol.

I know which is more frustrating!

I know what you mean. The amount of times I've landed with people to go 1 on 1 my machete v their ak / skotty. Want to throw my mouse off the wall some times!

I always thought everybody should land with pistols or some kind of defence, maybe if you're unarmed and somebody in your vicinity picks up an AR/shotty your character pulls a pistol out of his bumhole or something. :P

I thought it was great fun for the first 25 hours or so but the then it got really repetitive and with no really story as an incentive to keep playing I ultimately gave up after 35 hours of play. I hate not finishing games too but the girl in the cage was the only thing intriguing in the game for me - I tried to keep playing to find out what was going to happen with her but it just stopped being fun for me...

Nothing massively appealing to me either at current, been trying some of the older cheaper titles that for some reason I never ended up playing.
Had a lot of fun playing MadMax currently one of the best value games imo.

Slightly tempted with DOS2 as it looks enriched with story and content, although top RPG down play has never really been my thing.

Other than that PUBG is a must if you like FPS last man standing community play.

Personally, I think there are lots of good games coming soon or in development:

Far Cry 5
Wolfenstein 2
The Evil Within 2
South Park: The Fractured but whole
Mordor: Shadow of War
Borderlands 3
Darksiders 3
Beyond Good and Evil 2

I really looking forward to all of these games.

loads of good car games at the moment. if you serious player especially car games are going esports in a big way soon.lots of money being pumped in them.oh yes pubg :D

I was in exactly the same boat as you, top down RPGs have never ever appealed to me but I was hooked straight away. It's really worth a try - if you don't like it you can ask for a refund on Steam, I have refunded games after a couple of hours before :)

PC market seems to be obsessed with multi-player loot based games which do nothing for me.

Give me a single player game with a decent story and I'm happy, the less stuff to collect the better.
