Something a little bit different from Ace Modder.

and your point is exactly? oh it's a cloth mat with a rubber base, now I see  500 micron of cloth on a 4mm rubber base, how foolish of me to assume it was a rubber based cloth mat and for the "great" price of just under £10

Don't buy it then? I am getting one myself and I have seen them already and I think they are worth it. It is down to personal opinion, I think the design and the quality of these are worth it, they seem rather durable too.

Sorry what mouse pad do you have? Did it cost you 17pence? You seem to deem the value of a mouse mat at something silly and cheap like this.

on the contrary I paid £15 for my mouse "mat" some 5 years ago, the point I am making is that you are thinking that this is some sort of great deal, when in fact all you are doing is ripping the kids off with cheap dross. correct me if i'm wrong but it is a piece of rubber with a slap of cloth on the top? if more people had my way of thinking then the price of things would sharply decrease.

The cloth is woven, the image is designed, printed, cropped, scaled, recoloured, sampled, and processed, and the rubber is obviously treated plus the bottom of the rubber is stamped with a pattern on for good grip. Obviously there are staff who make these products too who need to be paid.

A bottle of water is just plastic with liquid in, but people buy them because they want it or they need it. Same thing really, you could say that with a lot of things that people buy, the clothes you are wearing is just a cloth but you still paid for it.

Feel free to go to a stationers and buy an eraser and put some cloth on it and class it as a mouse pad. I don't think it is going to happen though. :)

There is a lot of processes this goes through, for example we had samples come through for colour correction, this was just one stage of the process.

Here are some samples we have had to test the colours, and the durability.

doesn't detract from the fact that it's a piece of rubber with cloth on it though, no matter how many times you try to sugar coat it and you must be making a hefty mark up selling them for £9.98! I'd say at least 500%

But it isn't just a rubber with cloth on it. We do make some money on the mouse pad of course, if we were a business that did not make money then this forum would not be here and nor would the business.

You aren't going to get a good quality mouse mat for £2. 10 seems reasonable for the mouse mat if the quality is what its said to be.

Bottom right sample is my favourite :p

Would be tempted but my Boogie bug is holding strong :D

That is the one we have gone for, looks much nicer when seeing it for real. :)

I am sure people will be commenting on the pad once people have it in their hands.

As for OcUK mugs, watch this space (be careful though, as it is just pottery). ;) :p

i thought the whole idea of running a business is to make money ?

nothing to do with us how much they make is it.

it's ideology like that why the country is in the state it is in! fleece the peasants for as much as we can and the gullible will follow!

So are you saying I should be out my job along with the people who made the materials for the mouse pad, and the people who create the mouse pad? And it should be sold at cost price so the company makes no money? - I don't really understand.

Your mattress is a bunch of springs with a cloth over them, your house is a pile of cheap construction materials built on foundations mostly composed of rubble, and your computer case is a few bits of bent metal. Well done, that's how producing things works. You take materials, do things to them, and then sell them for more than the materials are worth. Have a cookie.
