Something different.... Scale model completed...

An airbrush kit starts on ebay for £20 upwards. You need a source of compressed air, either compressor, aircan or a spare tyre with an adaptor. I recommend getting a cheap plastic kit, cheap brush, can of air, and try it out. If you like it, upgrade later on….

As for batteries, a very long time, in fact it doesn’t need them, as it’s a static model…. Lol

I have many more models on my photo website –

As for number of parts… Ooh I dunno, 300 + and plenty of 2 part epoxy glue..!!

You can see some construction pics here –

Thanks again all for the comments. Much appreciated..

Great work there, iv-tecman :) Did you use any ink-wash or drybrushing painting techniques?

Yes, it helps to give depth and realism to the mechanics of the whole model, such as the engine and brakes etc.... thanks for the comments..

Your airbrush can be at times be as good as the artist.... I used a badger 200 Single action on this model, I airbrushed just about the whole thing, yet its a cheap o brush that most would think wouldn't be up to the task of making a model like this...

Aztec can be a bit cheap, parts might break, but the job will be as good as you make it, internal mix BTW is ALWAYS better though, those brushes that blow air onto paint that is blown out a bottle externally are a waste of time...

Very nice

not knocking what you've done there (as it looks impressive) but if I was going to go to all that effort then personally I'd want to make one that works - built a tamia RC buggy when I was 14 and this thread makes me want to go and get a helicopter kit or something

Thats a beautiful model Michael, we all strive for a result that gives you the visual impression you could strap yourself in and drive it away - like this :)

I've just about finished my Mclaren and I'm starting a Porsche 956 so I stopped polishing a Rothmans paintjob to type this :D

Exquisite work mate.
