Something different to drink

ive got a couple of bottles of glenmorangie single malt and a bottle of grey goose you cant beat them

you can indeed buy ridiculous quantities of it in ikea for not very much money, I kind of like it as a just got in from work drink. it's not the traditional summer evening cider though, for that you need a pint of stowford (or black rat if you feel the need to forget the evening).

still, tanqueray and tonic is a very satisfying drink and the best of your bunch...

you need to get some decent whisky though...
 
Thanks but i really hate whisky.. looking forward to the tanqueray also my mate says the alcohol free kopparberg is really great, not that i would want a drink with no booze in it of course.
 
Of your original choices, the Tanqueray is a nice gin with a smooth taste, unsurprisingly makes a lovely G&T.

I don't think I've had that Poteen but I've had one or two others and from what I remember just very very strong although that might come down to them being cheap and nasty versions.

I've never had Silver Aftershock that I recall but none of the others are very nice so I don't expect much from it. I used to drink the Cinnamon one occasionally using the method Jonny ///M, the only problem was no-one in my group of mates backs down from a drinking challenge like that so we end up swilling Aftershock around for about 10 minutes which is just boring frankly and not to be suggested.

Cointreau with lime and lemonade is really nice,really refreshing but will **** if your not careful.

I hate aftershock after a few bad experiences,quality + quantity is better than sheer potency.

i dont know how we did it but me and my ex girlfriend finished a normal sized bottle of cointreau in one sitting/evening. needless to say we were pretty merry. rum and black is usually really nice to nurse, epsecially if its with vimto-non fizzy.

Scuzi! Have you tried the 90% poteen? I'm thinking of buying it from a party on the weekend and trying to make something out of it cus straight shots seem like a bad idea

Yes, and drinking shots of the stuff at a party is a very bad idea, it's actually dangerous in that sort of environment. This drink has to be respected. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't taste like meths, it's actualy very smooth given the alcohol content and hence too easy to drink for what it is.

When I had it, I had been out on the beer for a few hours. I had two measures and drank them over the space of half an hour. I didn't feel any more drunk in my mind but when I stood up I collapsed and hit the floor like a wet snatter. My body was completely wasted but my mind felt surprisingly sober although I must admit my eyesight was shot.

It is a decent drink but is far too strong for a party environment. I suggest the 'Farmers Strength', it retains a good flavour yet is more drinkable. Drinks of this strength are usually made for mixing but I much prefer poitín on its own.

Well if your mixing it then its easy done working your way through a bottle.

I myself sat and drank it all night myself,a nice enjoyable drink....half the bottle was away! I stumbled about a bit though. :D

Me and a mate have finished a bottle in one night and moved on to other stuff.

Haha sounds pretty hardcore!
I did ready that an EU law had been passed that prevents the making of anything over 80% and when the 90is gone its gone? I'm still tempted to get it, not planning on going crazy with it or anything like that, just fancy trying something that strong...

Not realy? I had one shot of it not long ago, It left my mouth a little warm, but it did not taste to bad.... Was quite happy after mind you, jumping over everything in my way... Guess thats what happens when you have been t-total for the first 20 years of your life though....

Drink stripes (all 3 aftershocks layered in a tall shot glass) got some free the other night, tad harsh but all good :D


Anyone know much about absinthe? looking at this maybe Rodik's 85%

theres 5 different aftershocks :p red, blue, green, silver and black
