Something needs to change next season

We competed for several months! Not just a few games. It's the "few games" where we've been rubbish..

You miss understood my point - of the last 12 games you have only really been your old selves in the last three or four, the other 8 you played like a mid-table team

Mentally fragile my ****. The defence has been poor, end of. Gallas has been poor of late, and we've lacked shape since Sagna went out, because that's meant dragging Toure out to the right..

How about all the games you scored first and eventually lost in - you cant keep/secure a lead

I wasnt just referring to you - but my points still stand true

Who said we were aiming for top 6? The media and other fans said we were finished and would fail to qualify for the Champions League..

You did - in your last post "What I don't get at the start of this season we were suppose to be finishing top 6..." - all I said was that isnt a realistic assessment for Arsenal pre - season no matter what squad they have available, low expectations is one thing - with a new stadium needing to be paid for with consistant year in year out performances top 6 would never be enough

We have a striker who has scored 20 league goals this season, Owen has never done this yet he is considered a great striker.
Owen did that and more in all competitions at Liverpool Im sure, even so he supplied a huge amount for other players

Your next bigest scorer in the league is Fabregas with 7 (Nani has 1/2 that amount with less experience playing less games) - yes you have been unlucky with injuries, maybe -maybe not with your goal-scorers predominantly (Scholes, Nani, Rooney, Ronny and Saha have all missed quite a number of games for one reason or another)

Yes Fab isnt an out an out goal-scorer, but he isnt backwards in coming forwards either is he? He shoots numerous times every game....

Watched a bit of the Reserve game tonight, reasonably impressive (5-1) although Derby's side looked even more woeful than the first team (apparently they haven't won a single game this seaosn), allowing players to waltz through unchallenged. For the 5th goal, Djourou made a storming Kolo-esque run from the back, beat 4 men, one-two on the edge of the box and then crossed it in for Murphy to walk it in after wrong-footing some loon (not the keeper) who dived in at his feet arms outstretched.

Traore was playing left wing and looked much more impressive than he does at fullback, I wonder if he may get deployed there sometime next season when other players are out. He was unplayable at times, devastating runs with the ball at his feet, constantly bamboozling defenders with his stepovers in dangerous areas and generally giving a display of wingplay that makes Ronaldo look like a pub player.

Sunu also scored a belter, Traore had just skinned his man and the cross came over, he did a Bergkamp-stylee 180 spin and dragback but looked to have taken the ball too far away from his body. Yet somehow he managed to wrap his foot round it and cream it past the keeper at the near post, despite the fact that a) the ball was behind him and he was facing towards the halfway line on the far side of the pitch; and b) the ball had actually rolled so far across that it was outside the line of the post.

Stats as of March 29th
Adebayor 23 goals in 106 shots (57 SOG) - 1 goal/4.6 shots
Ronaldo 34 goals in 216 shots (109 SOG) - 1 goal/6.4 shots

The fact is that Adebayor puts a higher percentage of his shots on goal than Ronaldo and also scores more goals per attempts than Ronaldo. Ronaldo had only 9 more goals but TWICE AS MANY shots as Adebayor. He’s not nearly as wasteful as Ronaldo. He also puts a higher percentage of his shots on goal.

Interesting, Adebayor has also scored more this season than Bergkamp, Anelka and Overmars ever did in their best seasons at Arsenal.

8 out of 38 isnt a "few" its more than a 1/4 of your games.

Dont take it to heart, if united win the league this year it will be on the back of some of THE worst performances I have ever seen united put in.
As a team, we have had some truly awful showings.

Wenger needs to pull his finger out!!

Realistically im concerned he will just sign some youngster for around 7 - 8 million.

He SHOULD attempt to sign villa though, im sure fabregas could have a word ;)

David Villa has revealed that, should he move to England, Arsenal would be his preferred destination.

With the Valencia striker insinuating that he may call time on his career at the Mestalla over the summer there is likely to be a whole host of clubs fighting for his signature.

He has netted 63 times in just three seasons for Los Che, making him one of the most feared forwards in world football.

"Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.

"I think I'm made to succeed in England but of course it's one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it.

"The Valencia president (Agustin Morera) always told me he wouldn't sell me until summer 2008. If an offer comes in I'm hungry to test myself in England.

As much as i'd love it i just can't see Wenger splashing out anywhere near the required amount of money to get Villa in :(.

If Valencia go down (I doubt they will but it's definitely a possibility) Arsenal might be able to get him on the cheap.

valencia have athletico bilbao and barcelona coming up.

Can see them losing them two games. Depends what the other relegation zone teams do though i guess

That's quite true, could easily lose both of those. It's actually quite funny what Koeman has done to them this season :p

Not the way barca are currently playing with lack of team spirit and confidence (plus they are probably more interested in the CL Semi final than a league match - where they dont stand a chance of winning

Even if they went down, there'd be a list of clubs after him which would keep the price up.

Im not sure he'd make it over here though. He's neither amazingly quick nor particularly strong and he may struggle physically over here.
