How do you know someone is lying when there is no evidence yet?

It is a probably a little overstated :p

Tho I think it is very unlikely to take a big lead over the 2080 given the relatively small core count increase, specially when compared to the difference between the 2070 and 2070s - dunno how much effect the increased memory speed will have mindyou.

NVIDIA wouldn't want the 2080S to come anywhere close to their 2080Ti which is their halo card. This means the 2080S has to be gimped unlike the other Supers so 7% faster than 2080 seems reasonable.

still waiting on the preorder for the 2070S, although its hit the Credit card bill earlier than shipment
OC takes payment at point of order even if it's a pre-order

I've ordered an EVGA 2070s FTW so maybe I can finally make use of my monitor's 144hz refresh rate, my 1060 isn't cutting it

Well 2pm we shall see 23hrs now unless i see improvements i will not bother. Why? Pre order times and price it is just not worth it it. The 2080 was a terrible upgrade from a 1080 so even 15% when overclocked still does not do it for me. I will just sit out 60days no gpu and look for 2080ti bargains others will do the same. Those on 980ti would have already bought into the £475 Asus 2070 Super. I feel like this was mostly for the 1080 users but really i think a lot of them will sit it out until 3080 7nm. At least that seems to be the talk anyways.

A little underwhelming given the Rtx 2070 Super is £200 cheaper and not that far behind.

My Rtx 2080 V1 Ventus boosts up to 1890 after an auto overclock with Precision X1 and the memory overclocks to 7500 so it's only the extra cores that you are gaining over buying a vanilla EOL Rtx 2080.

I really want an RTX card, currently I'm running a GTX1080ti. Gaming at 1440p and what ever 3840x1200 is 1080p? Worth it?

Turing has been a disappointment due to ray tracing being underpowered, while DLSS remains a disaster.. So I'll stick with my 1080Ti FTW3 until Nvidia's 7nm or AMD offer a real upgrade. I game at 1440p and have ~2,400 titles between GOG and Steam.

But it stops the price rot of a one year old product and keeps it at a healthy overpriced margin for Nvidia. The 2060s got more ram the 2070s got the 2080pcb basically is a 2080 renamed. The people above this basically get shafted and laughed at. I guess this is because they know AMD only compete with the 2070s. Really since AMD are so imcompetant to reach 2080super levels of performance Nvidia will shaft you without mercy. Just look at the pricing above the 2070s £700 £1000 and £2500. There is no way in hell a 2080 Super is worth £700 for a basic model when the Asus 2070s was £475. It is basically an overclocked 2080 which is a year old! A year old! It is a rebadge scam!

t is a rebadge scam!

Not really. It's got more cores. Not many, but it is a slightly more capable chip in the 2080S over the 2080. The 2070S is a cut down 2080 chip, rather than the full thing. And the 2060S is a slight less capable version of the 2070 chip. I'm not sure it's a rebadge, though I can understand being underwhelmed.

Today's the day it seems! After a bit more thinking I don't think I could justify the extra cost for a 2080ti so I reckon if the reviews are positive I'll just pull the trigger on a 2080 Super.

If not then it'll be a 2070 Super, but to be honest the stock shortages are winding me up a bit. Recently built a new rig and this is the last piece of the puzzle. I'm upgrading from a 970 so this should be a nice jump for me :)

My personally take is the 2080 Super does not need to be as fast as 2080ti (it's not going to be).
It just needs to be faster than an 1080ti at the same or a lower price point.

Then the upgrade is valid one in my mind. :)

The 2070 Super is no doubt is the better value option.
But I prefer to have the extra FPS boost since I'm gaming @ 3440x1440 now.

[BUMP]

I see you have the game bundle on your 2070 Super's.

Any word for the 2080 Super's?

Are OCUK doing the free game bundles with a purchase?
It's not a deal breaker but it is something for nothing (as such).

The 2080 Super is that card (1080ti) The 2080 super needs to be closer to a 2080ti at a cheaper price. If a 2080 is what 20% off a 2080ti then it should be 10% off for around £700.

It wont be I know but that's where it should be.
