I can't figure out why my rig isn't running as it should. Even at the best of times I couldn't get more than 38fps in the crysis benchmark and something like 11-12k in 3dmark.

I installed 8.3's a few days ago and Crysis dropped to 29fps. I've done a fresh driver install, removed the old ones and used driver cleaner pro so there's no chance of it being old drivers messing things up.

Crossfire is enabled in CCC and shows as enabled in Everest (GPUZ still doesnt show it )

It's currently running at -

CPU - 400fsb x 8 - 3.2Ghz
Memory - 400mhz @ 5-5-5-12
GPU's - 825/1250mhz

I know it's not a quad and it's got a low cache so I've always put it down to that but I keep being told it should still be higher, and after comparing a few scores it would seem that it really should be running better than it is.

Anyone got any ideas?

Are you rich enough to buy a quad, knowing that it may still be the same situation? Your system is only running marginally (if at all) faster than mine, so something has to be wrong, have you tried each card on thier own?

No idea why your crysis bench is lower, as mine went up with the 8.3's

But the 3Dmark06 bug is well known, 8.3's don't seem to run 06 in crossfire for some reason.

Go back to 8.2's and your score will return.

But overall the 8.3's are the faster set for gaming.

I was until we started planning the wedding, as it stands I'm going to have to wait for the prices to come waaaay down

I've not tried each one on their own yet but I've tried with an without crossfire enabled and it is giving a boost, just not a huge one (~10%)

It was the 8.2's that were giving me low scores, haven't even attempted it with 8.3's yet as I'm trying to work out why it's not reaching it's potential.

But in COD4 there are multiple reports of graphical problems, such as sever flicker following / during a flash nade attack, very annoying so I went back to 8.2's.
