As many of you know, mrs fatiain is pregnant (39 weeks today). She had a midwife appointment yesterday afternoon. Blood pressure was taken and wee checked "Oh" said the midwife.

BP was checked again (diastolic was up 38mmHg from booking BP) and there was more protein in her wee than an Atkins dinner. "Erm, have you got the car outside? Best get up the hospital quick" "Possible pre-eclampsia...."

Cue black smoke off my tyres screaming up to the Maternity unit. Get there and her BP is relatively normal again. But they've kept her in overnight and they're doing a 24hour urine sample (she's carrying a mahoosive plastic bottle of wee with her everywhere she goes)

I've now got to wrestle a 2 year old into clothes, collect a parcel from the Post Office and take her up another pair of socks as the ones I took her last night have a hole in.

I've been surprisingly level headed, cool, calm and collected. so AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

*and relax*

Sure she'll be fine - have everything crossed for you anywy :) She's a woman, she's made of strong stuff ;)

Edit: Be careful at the Post Office, that can really stress you out :p

Hi, my wife is 40 weeks pregnant today but still no signs of the imminent arrival. We've had a few scares along the way, so we've had the rush to the hospital but so far no problems (touch wood !). She's in the best place she could be and its most likely precautionary and the little one will hopefully be here soon ! I'm sure all will be fine !!!

Aah, hope it all works out alright, though to be honest I have no real idea what any of the terms mean so I have no real idea whats going on

aaah, hope she and the little one to be are both fine...

i hoppe this makes you appreciate mums a little bit more :)

She's in the best place - they will keep her under observation so that she and the little 'un are safe, which is the main thing

I was in hospital for 6 flaming weeks with pre-eclampsia, had baby and got let out on Christmas Eve. At least it was my first so hubby wasn't running round with a toddler to deal with so u have my sympathy there :)

Only just seen this :o

Hope everything goes well buddy. Let us all know how things are.

Good luck.

Good job you didn't take her some polo's up then ;)

But to echo others, hope your second born arrives into the world all healthy and happy. :)
