It is gold coloured and looks like legit gold.

It’s a cast fake you can probably see a seam on the edge or it will have file marks on it. It’s a lifetime issue as Zeus legs aren’t crossed. Extremely rare to find a real Alexander tetradrachm in the ground in the UK. If you want to buy your son a real one go on vcoins. You can get a real Alexander drachm for less than £100.

Living on the edge a bit there with that banana.

But yes that's a reproduction. If you look at struck coins they have a very smooth flat surface, on yours particularly next to the eagle it's very bumpy and the outer edge by the letters.
