Sonic Generations

For anyone interested, I just bought this off GmG for £17. They give you the key on or nearer the release date, mind.
 
Well I played the demo of this on the 360 last night and i'm impressed!

Classic sonic controls really well and more like how he did on the megadrive games. I hated Sonic 4 because of how badly sonic handled, it felt like he was glued to the spot, the precision controls of the original megadrive games had vanished for this weird insta-stop sonic...

More surprisingly to me though is that modern sonic also handles really well and is a lot of fun to play as. I was concerned that the modern aspect of the game would ruin it for me but based on the demo the game as a whole is looking and playing fantastic.

I'm going to put a pre-order in on steam tonight :D
 
So I've been playing this for a couple hours on steam... and woah... it's a fantastic port! Seriously, it runs very smoothly and looks great! So impressed! Though I find the Chemical Plant has a few stutters here and there but hopefully that will be patched. Very happy with this though :)

Got my 360 version coming through the post but will get it on Steam too when it hits a sale. Need to play this game on my big TV first before a replay on my PC using a smaller screen.
 
Cant get sonic 4 on the PC yet though can we?

I dont really like sonic in 3D, I wanted Sonic 4 (side scrolling with 3D backdrops = wonderful).

I bought sonic 1-3 on steam ages ago for £3.99 each, will sell my firstborn for sonic 4 too!

Wait what ,,, this is already released? I didnt realize that!

I'll buy it since people seem to like it a lot :)

Reading some reviews, I cant wait for this to finish downloading, but its taking ages :(

No HUD?

I have no HUD ingame.

Also, I do not see the chapter select splash screen or any menus when starting up. I just press start blindly to start the game.

If moving up and down, I can hear the cursor moving but nothing on the screen other than the Sonic Generations logo.

Also, I do not see the "SEGA" splash screen on boot either, any ideas?
 
As maxilive says, run a file integrity check first.

Looking on the forums there are some issues with certain nvidia cards + drivers.
What are your system specs?
 
Its been downloading at over 800 kb's, and its still only 40% done :(

This is just one of the things I hate about steam.

Allready ran an integrity check, passed OK.

AMD Phenom II 720 x3
Radeon 5770 1GB
Xonar DX
8GB RAM
 
I have no idea how people get that good at sonic, I lose my rings constantly :x

Well, on Chemical Plant I was getting hit all the time, on green hill I only managed 2 mins on act 1, 3 mins on act 2 with an S rank on both.
