Sonic Generations

I have no HUD ingame.

Also, I do not see the chapter select splash screen or any menus when starting up. I just press start blindly to start the game.

If moving up and down, I can hear the cursor moving but nothing on the screen other than the Sonic Generations logo.

Also, I do not see the "SEGA" splash screen on boot either, any ideas?

ATI Radeon card? Try turning off AntiAliasing in CCC (set it to Application Controlled). That worked for me and I had the exact same symptoms.

Considering purchasing this, will there be any opportunity of being able to download user made levels or levels in the form of dlc?

Thanks.

It's "alright". The 2D levels are half decent, the 3D levels less so, but hardly terrible.

It does still have that Sonic side-effect of being completely chaotic and un-controllable when you get up to speed though, which totally ruins the game.

For me, better than the 3D mess we've had forced down our necks recently, but nowhere near as good as any of the classics or even Sonic 4.

I got this for my kids, they seem to be enjoying it and it looks good on the living room TV. However, it doesnt run that great on my media centre (core2 at 2 GHZ, 2 Gig memory and a 4890). I know this system is getting on, but it isnt that old and the graphics card is pretty good.

Still its more than playable on full settings and Im looking forward to having a go :p

Been playing this a bit, just completed 6 levels and need to get some keys to continue. Looks fantastic the backdrops are amazing! Such great fan service in the game and pretty enjoyable gameplay even as "Modern" sonic.

The game doesn't seem to perform that great with a few fps drops but that seems to be happening on consoles etc in the same place. So its probably something to do with the engine and graphic effects they are using. It is really at odd times, usually parts that are semi-cut scenes so it doesn't cause mew any issues when I'm actually playing :D

Can you plug a 360 controller into the PC version and will it work straight away?

Don't really like the idea of playing Sonic on a Keyboard and mouse

Forced myself through another three levels and the second boss. A bit better, but still very "meh".

I have this now. I've really been enjoying it for the most part. I'd say positives are: Music is awesome - some of the "modern" remixes aren't as good as the originals (e.g. Open Your Heart was far better in Sonic Adventure) but in general the music is good. I really like the classic takes on modern stages.

However some negatives: The PC version is clearly just the 360 version with a configuration menu that they've knocked up in VB.NET or something (it even has the default windows forms icon :p) and the prompts (which all correspond to 360 controller buttons) are not very helpful. The default keyboard layout also isn't very good.

The bosses I've played so far are ****ing awesome however.

I read that there will be a retail version that will be released in a few weeks time and usually it will probably be cheaper than the Steam version.

Also I've seen no word about DLC for the PC version. There's the Casino Night bonus that is available for the console versions via pre-order, but not on the PC yet.

retail looks to be 15-17 preorder atm. its 16.79 on gmg at the moment for steam code.

only played green hill and chemical plant so far but its superb!

word of warning for the crossfire peeps on 11.9 i get terrible lag with 2nd card enabled. single its proper smooth tho.

£12.95 for the PC version on Zavvi at the moment.

Hoping the Steam Autumn sales can have it cheaper than it's £19.99 price tag, otherwise the Zavvi retail version it is.
