We're by the red bull bedroom jam stage!

I can hear from here the musics started already

The traffic reports were reporting major delays around the A1M, knebworth, Hitchin and Stevenage but I managed to fly home through the back lanes :)

Report on yesterday...

Shuttle buses screwed took 2 hours before we got on one and missed Diamond Head (grr...) and Anthrax (crap now live...) made it in time for Megadeth who were brilliant Slayer were very good as well and Metallica showed why the are probably the best live band in the world.

Weather behaved which was good and the site is pretty much the same as last year. Back down there in a few minutes.

Holy **** that was an awesome weekend. Metallica, Biffy and Slipknot were all unreal, especially as it rained during Slipknot to make it that bit more insane. Awesome tribute to Paul at the end as well, genuinely very moving.

The weather was crap for saturday and sunday evenings. Highlights for me were Volbeat, Sylosis, Mastadon, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Slipknot. Metallica were the best of the headliners we saw by miles in my opinion...

We got so wet on saturday that we left before Biffy came on but had seen them the week before at Foo Fighters.

Thought Bill Bailey was a waste of time.

Not nice to see the Anthrax haters in this thread! They still sound the same as they did almost 30 years ago in my books, its Metallica that sound completely different. I can't stand their new sound!

Anthrax in the 1st year with John Bush were one of the best bands there, last year with Joey they were rubbish. He was by far the weakest lead singer when the big 4 did Am I Evil.

Bah, I went out of my way to find that flag, ran up to it and shouted hovis and none of you lot were there :D

Will give my full lowdown of the weekend later :)

Anthrax in the 1st year with John Bush were one of the best bands there, last year with Joey they were rubbish. He was by far the weakest lead singer when the big 4 did Am I Evil.

Ive never understood why people like John Bush better. Joey was on their most successful albums and when they were big in the 80's he was their lead man.

When bush joined, they wrote some of the worst rated albums together!

Joey is a thrash metal singer and Diamond Head are certainly not thrash metal so saying he was the poorest at singing that song really doesn't mean much :p I think he sings the Anthrax stuff a lot better than Hetfield sings Metallica nowadays.

I disklike his voice, I think he's rubbish live and prefer the Bush era stuff and how Bush sings the older stuff as well. Music of Mass Destruction is a great live album.

Metallica are my favorite live bands and have been for years so we'll just disagree on that.

Well, that was freaking awesome :D
Though I now need a new, watch, tent, and chair, possibly a new throat too.

Quality weekend, the only bands I saw that disappointed were sum41 as they mucked around too much to finished their set and played loads of crap songs at the start, and anthrax.
Panic cells last ever gig was great, and he gave the crowd a bottle of Jaeger to top it off, I was and the front and centre barrier for biffy, and loved every second of it, metallica never fails to disapoint, the atmosphere during slipknot was amazing and slayer were a lot better than expected.

Bring on next year :D

Highlights
Metallica
Slayer
Slipknot
Watain
Gallows
Motorhead

Have to agree I enjoyed Anthrax a lot more the other year with John Bush

I thought Gallows were very good as well. One of the guys infront of me nearly broke down when the lead singer said he was leaving.

I'm not a big fan of Gallows myself, but they did play well. That circle pit was incredible though - apparently someone broke their leg and someone had a fit in there. Madness.

My personal highlights were Metallica, Pulled Apart By Horses, Gojira, Kylesa, Mastodon, Opeth and Slipknot. T'was a wonderful weekend. If only it didn't involve camping...

Gutted that I missed the second half of Mars Volta's set and Watain's set (clashes with Gojira and Biffy Clyro respectively - I'm a big fan of older Biffy material, and I felt I needed to see them live).

Worst bit of the weekend is drawn between the 2.5 hour wait for the shuttle bus from the station (thursday afternoon) and the security/lack of communication at the entrances to Bohemia tent (it was normally bad, but it was just terrible for Gojira - no entry whatsoever until a group of people surged past security just in front as Gojira were starting to play. There was still plenty of space inside...). Rain and mud weren't great either, but they're to be expected along with loud people at night :P
