Sonisphere 2011

Once I walked in with my hip flask full of gin, which the security guard grabbed and patted for a good 5 seconds, then he let me through :o

Yeah I never bought a beer once, I got so many cans in. \o/

To be fair last year was even sillier. The rule was simply "no cans", so everybody just decanted booze into bottles, which they didn't bat an eyelid to. There was also a complete lack of bag checking, as said, which always feels like I've wasted time moving stuff out of glass bottles.

I saw the smoke bombs, but I didn't realise there were flares too. Proper ones? At Glastonbury there were some seriously strong ones, that you couldn't actually look at. Someone even had an actual flare gun, which was just plain awesome.

Didn't see any flares, but someone tried to sell me laughing gas out of a gigantic canister :S

what I saw may have just been a smoke bomb, I thought it was a hand flare as it had a pretty bright red light, but it was down in the crowd so couldn't see it properly, was quite near the mixer during slipknot.
