US: Sons of Anarchy...

Liked it however nowhere near a true depiction of reality :p

Not saying you're wrong, but on what do you base that statement? I thought that in the US at least, motorcycle gangs like the Hells Angels (I know, full of portly accountants in the UK) and Outlaws are responsible for quite a lot of crime.

I'd also like to know the basis for that statement :)

Do not have any illusions that UK chapters of "Backpatch" clubs are full of "portly accountants". I am in a small Motorcycle Club that only exists by having permission to do so by the local chapter of a backpatch club (Won't say which one).

You basically don't **** around with these people. Our club minds its own business and just enjoys riding and having a laugh. The bigger outfits are little more than criminal gangs, whose members just happen to own motorcycles. I have it on good authority that SoA is as true to life as TV dramas get. It's just that if it was set in the UK they would be getting rained off all the time, the women would have fatter arses, and the bikes would not all be Harley-Davidsons.

I think whats really good about this show and seperates it from a lot of other shows, you can really see the things that motivate the characters and make them like they are and they tend to be true to those things in each episode - feels much less contrived than many TV shows even if its a bit unbelieveable.

Started on this recently, really enjoying it and will hopefully be able to catch right up!

Needed something else to fill the gap that Lost is going to leave (among other shows which are ending - 24 - or have been cancelled - Flashforward) and it looks like SoA fits perfectly :D

just finishing up on season 2, absolutly amazing tv. series 1 does a good job of setting up then season 2 has some brilliant story lines interlaced with some good humor

Have just finished the 2nd season and I'm sooo glad this is coming back for more - the story has me engrossed to the point where I nearly watched 3/4 episodes at a time it was that addictive!

Oooooooooo..... absolutely love The Shield, I gotta check this out!

Just finished season 1 - it's really good. Basically the same thing as The Shield - a bunch of morally dubious characters in some genuinely moving situations, all along with a good helping of gritty violence.
