Actually its primarily neither - if you ask Sony what it was designed for it is an "a/v entertainment hub" not a games console or a bluray player.

Hey i criticised the PS3 plenty before buying one and now that i have one i still stand over what i criticised it for. Thats the poor line up of exlcusive games and its pricepoint didnt imo offer the most appealing package. I bought it for a Blu Ray player firstly with the view within a year it would offer much better games.

Scorn me but hell i was right on those fronts as sales have proven, still it is a good machine and a nice alternative.

I think this thread is going the wrong way and heading for a Vs flame war anytime soon.

My original point was nothing to do with whether it's a BD player or a games console it was just my thoughts that it's a lame post which is pointless and humourless... my feelings would be the same regardless of if it was aimed at Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo! There seem to be a real lot of lame posts these days which are really not interesting or funny!
