Sony Ericsson Android XPERIA

I remember a couple of early reviewers complained of a hairline crack starting above the stylus slot after 2 weeks... I assumed they dropped them or something...

Can't fault the build quality on mine - its been through hell and back daily for a year and only way you'd tell is the battery cover is scuffed - the rest is still in pristine condition.

Black or silver?

This is almost certainly going to be my next phone, assuming they sort out the OS and bump it up to Android 2.0. I don't much need the keyboard the Droid has and prefer the styling of the X10, just hope it's not too pricey.

I've seen it on one site already for £460 including vat, which seems cheap to me, so that may change, but hopefully not.

My main concern is that because they offer a paid for navigation service (Wisepilot) they will be reluctant to upgrade to Android 2.0 and the free Google maps navigation.

With it being a few months before release, hopefully some of these questions we all have, will be cleared up :)

I saw this the other day, very much like the look of it. Had my original iPhone 18 months now, don't see the point of getting a 3GS just to have things a bit quicker, so I'll just keep waiting for a phone worth switching to. Nearly jumped to the HTC Hero, but wasn't sure about the lack of CPU oomph, so held off.

Need to see Android 2.0 before I make any decisions now anyway, looks goooood.

Regarding 2.0. There are suggestions google have some kind of exclusivity with motorola and the Droid/Milestone atm as other network providers and phone makers are all holding back comments on it.
Whatever the case its only a matter of time until its used by others

Black or silver?

Black

I'd be quite gutted to part with it - and rather happy if there was a way to improve reception and the camera without hardsbl (none of the radio mods work that will without major battery drain anyhow) or hardware mods.

Bizarrely, the issue did seem to affect silver versions more. Also, I find the Touch Pro2, which has the same internals, to run MUCH faster/smoother than my Xperia ever did, regardless of the various ROMs I tried.

Thats looking very nice....

I can see my Satio going on eBay near the time this getting released.

Hi Andy, I cancelled my voda contract after 3 Satios had constant freezing during calls.

I do like the look of this android phone tho. its lush :P

Did I hear on the video that it will be upgradable to android 2.0?

I wonder if XDA could do roms on it?

I was tempted by the HD2 but I think I'll wait for the x10 now :)

Just got this one yesterday.
It looks great and the UI is also very attractive. Havnt had much time to test it yet but will soon. Currently the main problem is that it crashes a LOT! Hoping for a SW update cba testing crashing phones :o
