Sony MDR-EX85 opinions

wow you got out on the wrong side of the bed. i was refering only to sound quality. players like the iaudio d2 put the ipods to shame:)

Not really, just fed up of people bashing the ipod for not being a proper mp3 player tbh. I dont know but to me the ipod sounds pretty good to my ears, perhaps my ears arent what they used to be but the ipod sounds great to me...sounds nice and full to me...although it could do with some eq adjustments but im not so fussed about that tbh.

You say the iaudio d2 puts the ipods to shame...in what respect?? sound quality or features??.

i was refering to sound quality, as your quote says lol. stereo imaging, bass and detail are amazing good for a dap. they arent the best with low impedance are earphones but thats a common problems with all modern daps. they are, however, a real improvements on an ipod nano and video and short of the oldskool iriver h320's and such, they are the best ive heard without resorting to line-outs and offboard amps:)

im sorry if it does rub you up the wrong way, i dont set out to bash anything at all but when i say something, its an opinion based on fact. here's how i see it, ive used many of these alternative players so i can make an informed decision and thats what i do. if apple released a player with the sound quality and batterylife of my old d2, id buy it in a heartbeat. but im sure ive tried to explain this to you before?:)

i dont hate apple. if i did, i wouldnt be considering dropping a crap load of money on a 17" macbook pro. people just assume that because i know other players do things better, that i automatically have a grudge against apple. that, to be honest, is complete nonsense and if you've read any of my other posts in other areas, consoles, home theatre ect, you would realise that:)

I'm all for these MP3 players with great sound but anything under 30Gb just doesn't suit me unfortunately.

I nearly bought the iAudio7 due to rave reviews about the sound quality but 8gb? I have around 22Gb music, I want it all at my disposal (sp).

I know they've just announced a 16Gb version is coming but this still doesn't compare to the 30, 40, 60 an 80Gb Ipods. I'm happy with the sound quality of the Ipod, just stuck some vids on it too, looks pretty decent. All for £140.

What about the IAudio X5 then? thats 30Gb, I have a 20Gb M5, the battery lasts forever.
