Sony support for PS3 - spot on

So they are replacing it 6th January, good service.

Now im revoking that statement, it was due tomorrow I waited patiently for it and they phoned my mum tonight at 7pm and said btw its not coming tomorrow we ran out of stock. We will try and get you one by the 19th but no guarantees....WTF :(

Suspect the Christmas rush probably - very surprised if you dont get it before then - would normally say 10working days really...

ps3ud0

My laser just crapped out today. Its a 60gb bought in Sept 07. Will give them a call and see what they can do.
Why don't Sony just sort out their laser issues?

my 40gig has been doing while messing about with the controller, keeps losing it and wont connect again, lights flashing and all.

whats there UK number?

Sony's customer support is outstanding. They've been nothing but superb on my 3 console fails over the last 8 years.

Microsoft could learn a thing or two, believe me.

lol, Just to add to this, not wanting to start any wars, but, in years gone by i had the original Xbox, after a row with the Mrs (i was a bit late home from the pub) she pulled out the Xbox from under the TV and literally jumped up and down on it, me being drunk found it quite funny tbh, so she did it again for good measure, next morning i switched it on to hear the most horrendous sounds from the drive, i contacted Microsoft, explained the fault (tho not the cause ;)) they collected it the next day. repaired it, returned it with an Xbox beanie hat, CD wallet, a bunch of stickers and a letter of apology for my "defective" machine F.O.C. !!

What a result!

My drive died on Friday, just before Singstar night too - gutted.

So far my experience with support has been good too - they are collecting it tomorrow.

So even though they don't make 60's any more they can replace them?

Sounds cool.

I was thinking of signing up for "continuous play" but it sounds like I might aswell save the £5 a month if they just replace it out of warranty anyways

Shame you couldn't send your Mrs off for a repair/replacement too ;)

Ring them up again and ask if they do any anger management courses for Sony fangirls.

Did you have warranty or continuous play?
What number did you phone and would this work if it was 2nd hand?

Cheers,

was so funny at the time, good job she's only 5' nothing and weighs no more than 8 Stone, tough little black box that was tho', never even cracked the outer casing!
Wouldn't swap her for the world, when i mentioned a new PC just before Xmas and showed her the rig i have now on ocuk she just said yes!

The thing that did it was, she phoned one of my m8's who was with me in the pub to see how long i was going to be (went to pub on way home from work 5.30, phone call at around 11.45), when he repeated "if i didn't hurry up i'd be sleeping downstairs" she over-heard me say "fine, i can play on the Xbox all night" DOH!
The things we say and do when drunk, lol.

Seems as this is about the Sony support I thought I'd share my view on it. Pretty damn well rubbish! When I logged a fault with them on Xmas day it took over 3 weeks for them to sort and not once did they contact me. I had to ring them chasing, each time the person wouldn't know what I was on about even so there was a call logged with all the info on there.

Really bad service, I had to log a complaint it was that bad.
