*** Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ***

Loving this phone so far. What is the little emblem next to my wifi symbol in the task bar though? looks like the logo above the sony text on the back of the phone
 
*** I thought I got a great example but I have noticed a screen defect. The bottom left corner is tinted slightly greenish. Very noticeable if you read black text on a white background across the screen there. I want to be able to live with it but I just know I will not be able to. Interestingly, on a black background in a dark room with brightness turned up there is quite a lot of backlight bleed in this area so that is probably related....

Seriously, I never get any luck with phones. They all have screen defects. Maybe I am just picky but god damn it they should make sure they quality control check them better!

I think my eyes are too good sometimes :p

:(. Hopefully Amazon will be good about replacing it.
 
So I bit the bullet and ordered a Casemate Barely There...had one for my HTC One M8 and it was a fine case...IF a little slippy...but certainly won't be as slippy as the Z3 Compact is itself :p

I'll see how I get on with it and decide whether to keep the phone completely naked or not over time. Also dunked the phone for the first time and it was great to take it out of the water and use it again with no issues, reassuring indeed!

I imagine plenty of people haven't even tried that yet...
 
^I ordered the same case and have been using it for a couple of days now. It looks good and even allows you to place the phone in the charging dock however it is a little slippery to hold.

I haven't dunked my phone in water yet as it goes against everything ingrained it feels so unnatural to do so but Im trying to build up the nerves to do it...

I dunked mine in a pint of beer then rinsed it off with water afterwards :D
 
People too scared to test their phone in water, wouldn't you rather test it now to make sure it holds whilst it is still within simple returns period if it's broken? Mine will be going straight into a cup of water as soon as I get it ;) Will be fun accidentally dropping it in pints, sinks, pools in front of people who have no idea :D
 
After playing with it in my hand I have decided this is the next phone for me.

What is the best case to get? To keep it as slim as possible but also protect.
 
To be honest I'm not really bothered about the phone being waterproof and although I have reservations dropping it in a glass of water etc.

It is a bonus that it is waterproof because I was caught in a heavy shower on the way back home and I used my phone as normal.

Any other phone would've been shielded or used under cover so it's all good really and a handy feature to have.
