**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

How do you select an ISO above 800? I'm in manual mode but the ISO range still shows 800 max!

It was in the gsm review ;) you have to be in superior auto.
In Manual mode you get limited controls: Exposure Compensation, White balance, Metering, Image stabilization and ISO. The maximum selectable ISO is 800 at full resolution, 3,200 at 8MP or less. There's a 12,800 ISO setting as well but that's only available in Superior auto and cannot be manually forced.
As for the skipping audio tracks I use the inline button - just double press it.

I'm currently using the Nexus but the battery is really struggling so I want to upgrade. Is this phone worth the extra money over the Z2? I'm kind of struggling to decide. I've managed to get the £430 of the Z3 preorder from amazon but they also have sellers putting out the Z2 for £356... so a £74 quid difference. That's enough to pay for a dock and case with loads of change.

Inline audio button? I use my own IEMs :(

Maybe I should buy one of those inline dongles that sits between phone and earphones to act as a middle man to send playback commands!

Those new Momentums, I take it they would not exceed the Sennheiser IE80? :p I wasn't impressed by the Momentum cans though tbh!

Adapter it is!

My B&W C5's have an inline remote handily, not it isn't exactly the greatest design for a remote! It's not that much both to take the phone out of your pocket is it!? You'll ruin the look of your IE80's :(

I often walk to/from work with playlist on shuffle, taking the phone out every few minutes to track change is rather tedious when previously I've been used to long pressing the volume button to skip track through the jacket breast pocket!

The online Belkin remote linked above looks like it will do the job just fine though. Says it is for iPhone only but the connections are standard so should work on Android too. Won't ruin the look of the IE80 as the remote end is under pocket cover anyway.

Yea better off with the adapter if you have IE80's.

Momemtums seem interesting for the price, I noticed they have different versions - one for iPhone and one for Galaxy
not really sure if that adapter will work then? I only did a quick search and thats all i could find.. it probably will though. :p

Pretty sure it will work, for a fiver it's worth a punt!

Edit*

The magnetic charging seems speedy enough, not much different to any other charger. Will try in a couple days with a high amps output plug though. Took about 3hrs 20mins to get from 1% to 100.

I'm beginning to love this phone more as each day passes by!
At first I didn't think it was much of an upgrade over my S4.

So since 10AM yesterday (that's 25hours) I'm now sitting at 65% battery left.

It's defo got a two day battery life!!!

£347 on Handtec looks like the best price. Are Handtec OK to deal with?

I'm on Three PAYG and I intend to just pop the sim from my S3 mini into there. What would I need to do to get the 4G access, is it automatically added?

Love how the screen turns on instantly from sleep when you press the power button or do me tap the screen. A refreshing change from the Samsung phones and other handsets I've used over the years.

I've had 1 issue in London today whereby I lost network data and had to reboot. Maybe a one off glitch so will keep an eye on it.

Oh and my polarised sunglasses render the screen black if it's on its side on the dash! Luckily I can see the screen from the gap at the bottom of my sunglasses as the phone sits on my lower centre console but those who have their phone high up on their dash will find this a problem if they mount the phone horizontally and wear polarised sunglasses. Portrait orientation is fine though.

Ordered yesterday from Amazon, arrived earlier this afternoon.

I've tried a "wobble test" (basically holding the dock and wobbling it in all directions) and it's not fallen out, so I'll give it a try in the car and see how it goes - but if it is supported enough - I'll get another as my in-car holder!

Just went into town to pick up one of these phones in black. It is so nice! Nowhere seems to sell a case for it though, has anyone found a nice protective case for it yet :)? The Sony one on Amazon isn't out until 14th October which is annoying :(

Funnily enough I was reading the Pocket Lint review earlier and they mentioned this issue. Next summer could be... interesting. My only pair of prescription sunnies are polarised.
