Basically all social media is cancer and should be avoided. That said, if I had to choose between the Chinese having my data and the Americans and Brits (who have a reciprocal data sharing agreement) having my data, I know who'd worry me more.

People may joke about it but I know a detective who works in CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) and he was saying Tik Tok is their number one problem with paedophiles and child grooming.

Seriously though I saw an extended family member's kid on their phone watching tiktok for a good half hour with their eyes glazed over as this non-stop stream of attention grabbing influencer ****e flashed past their eyes. Complete zombie.

Should be a zombie with their head stuck in a PROPER BOOK like I was :mad:

If you are seeing nothing other than young girls dancing, that's because you are spending more time watching that content than anything else lol

I do imagine if you asked that kid to name even 20% of the videos they had watched in that time, they would struggle to recall them.

Not medical advice, but the best thing I ever bought was one of these modern takes on the neti pot. I have esenophillic asthma and have a constant blocked nose and related issues. A wash out with this leaves me feeling like a new person. It's easy to do and doesn't feel unpleasant at all (despite initial fears to the contrary). I wouldn't use one while you have active infection, however; but it's something to bear in mind for later.

People really ought to read the terms and open their eyes to what info/data they're giving permission for the company to extract from your device, even if it's nothing to do with the app or platform,
 
I was going to sign up to tiktok. But the amount of information and access to my phone it needed was scary.

So decided against it.
