Space hulk

As far as I can tell its exactly the same as 3rd ed but with a few more missions, and some new tokens for boarding torpedoes and a lift.
Pleased I managed to get a copy though since I have great memories of playing it years ago, and I have a bit of an obsession for board games :D

Also, has anyone played dwarf king's hold by mantic games?
Think Space Hulk meets Heroquest.

I only played Dwarf King's Hold a couple of times, it was pretty good though! It was very much like a melee focused space hulk, same friend who has it also backed Dungeon Saga, so I suspect I will be playing that one eventually as well!

I have a copy of Dreadball which I have only played a few times, I was expecting it to be like Blood Bowl, but I think its more comparable to the computer game Speedball, its nice and fast paced though! Works well for tournament play I have been told.

Not played Deadzone, but from what I understand its very similar to Necromunda/Mordheim, since I enjoyed bot I think I would be willing to give that a go!

The models are of varying quality it seems, the worst I have seen were the goblin spitters! but their zombies look pretty good!
They also make great proxys for Warhammer.

I backed the new version, Dungeon Saga, on Kickstarter. It's not due to be released until late next year though.

Mantic's models are of... variable quality but you can't beat them for value. Dreadball is a great game and Deadzone is pretty good too.

That looks exactly the same as Hero Quest, in fact even the 4 characters you can be are the same lol.

I recently bought a game called Super Dungeon Explore. It's like a Japanese inspired version of HeroQuest. I would say it's probably my favourite board game at the moment and I am just about to kick off a project to build my own modular dungeon board for it. I'm going to be casting a lot of the parts myself using 14000 PSI Crystacal.

I'll definitely be having a look at Dwarf Kings Hold and Dungeon Saga.

Edit: I have never used Kickstarter before. Let's say I wanted to back Dungeon Saga now that it has been fully funded. Can I still do that and receive all the stuff that comes with it?

You can't back it at all, unless Mantic have a Paypal option that is still open. That's how Kickstarter works; you get the goodies for funding the project.

Can't believe people are saying they would skip this. After the previous release sold out, they were going for 3-4x the RRP on places like ebay. Say what you like about Games Workshop, they have a very shrewd marketing team (Backed up by an army of lawyers for it anyone tries to release a similar game).

Incredible scarcity leads to hype and massive demand for new versions.

Also the price seems a lot more reasonable once you work out the cost of 12 Terminators, 22 Genestealers and a Brood Lord separately, I know they are not the same models (I prefer the more dynamic poses of the Space Hulk ones actually!) but you get the idea!

I nearly bought two copies but decided against it in the end!

Yeah, if you take into account GW's usually overpriced models then it's reasonable. Somehow though.... :p

As a game it is insanely expensive (and tbh, it's not really that great a game anyway)

I have got two on order at the moment. I ordered one from gw at full price and one from dark sphere at £60. I am contemplating cancelling the gw order but I am a little bit nervous that dark sphere will not get their full allocation. In theory I could take both and try and sell one on for a profit, but I don't think I can really afford it at the moment.

I'm praying that I can still find a copy come payday. It's a game I've always wanted but couldn't justify the secondhand prices. For what it's worth I love the card game.
