Space hulk

gratz on getting a copy! Anyone had a play yet?

The first scenario, Beach head, is a bit of a disappointment though - I've played my girlfriend twice and the terminators steamrolled it both times. The first game was a draw because the rooms weren't all clear but the second game was an easy win. Anyone else find this??

The second scenario looks a lot more challenging!

I'd say whoever is playing the genestealers is doing a poor job :), I'm 3 for 3 as the stealers on the first mission :)

I've picked up a copy of this to play instead of my first edition copy, which is starting to show its age a little now. I was surprised to see its been reduced to 2 player rules only, the original could cope with 3 or 4 players.

On a related note, I'm intending to have a go at painting my miniatures, I think I've got the colour scheme for the terminators sorted, but was wondering what the standard blue / gold colours used for the librarians are ?

I don't think there are any standard colours, I would suggest kantor blue as a base with macragge blue used for layers, or use maccrage for the whole thing but start with a 1:1 mix of blue and black as a base coat, as for the golds, that's really up to you as to what you think looks best! I tend to prefer a more brassy look to golds but that's just me :)

It's a good game, but I think it rewards regular (or semi-regular) play, unlike traditional board games, so mine rarely makes it out of the cupboard these days. The idea of "let's review the rules for an hour first" always kills the enthusiasm, and when I get together with the guys it's usually 3 of us so this (and blood bowl) often take a back seat to 3-player games.

Might offload my copy (from the ladt revamp) at some point on the bay of eeeees.
