Hmm...
First impressions:
- Terrible, cringewrothy narration. "He clenched his fist when he thought about what happened to his father, the picture in his mind smashing into a thousand pieces"

Just awful.
- Cutscenes are equally as cheesy, as are the god-awful in game voices, with tacky "Yarrr! Me hearties" accents for the pirates, etc. Its quite funny, in a bad way.
- Worst. Space. Backdrop. Ever. It looks like a flat texture on a wall. In fact, theres some dodgy fish-eye perspective going on, so as you rotate the ship its like being in a bubble, with the space background 'painted' on the inside.
- Space fighting feels like shooting from a turret. No space debris and a flat backdrop means there's no impression of movement, so your just spinning around shooting at pirates who never seems to really get any closer of further away from you....and that takes ages, with the crappy, pea shooter laser they give you.
On the positive side, the craft models look ok, looks to be plenty of depth with various jobs, craft customisations/attachments, a big universe to explore.
Maybe I just need to give it some more time. I'll have another go tomorrow and see how that goes, I was struggling to find out where it told me what the controls were...
