I remember that formation being played they were saying he was trying something different at the time. Worked well tonight but won't work against Real with their counter attacking, certainly the pace they do it!

Also rumours of them possibly cashing in on Villa. He will probably struggle to get into the team, talk of a fallout between him and Pep and they will want to sell for a reasonable amount. Still a top top class striker one of the best in Europe.

Barca certainly played with a much better tempo tonight, zipping the ball around nicely, great movement and passing and they seemed a bit more up for it, not so lack lusture. Maybe a bit of a kick up the bum after that Getafe game which it appeared they thought they could breeze through.

The Clasio should be interesting, Real look great so far this season but not really sure what real competition they have faced and we all know it goes out the window during Clasico game!
Tough to call, feel RM might be able to win this game though certainly considering Barcas current away form which is pretty dreadful.
At home they are on fire, not conceeded in some new club record is it?

Also Messi is on goal 27 for the season already and should have had 2 more tonight. He is 29 away from being Barcas all time top goal scorer at the age of 24.
 
Classico is completely unpredictable from the season so far. Real look great going forwards but dodgy defensively and yet have only come up against realistically one(ish) decent scoring team in Valencia, and they conceded 3 didn't they, or two and a couple offside ones that were unlucky and great play.

Barcelona have been struggling a little bit lately, but often when teams shut up shop on them, Real will NOT do that, because they are incapable of it. I mean even if they tried, like last year they'd lose badly. It was the later games last year when they attacked they looked closer to Barca, the early games of sitting in their own half defending were a disaster.

So you've got Real with a weak back line against a great attack, and Barca with the same, but neither have played a team anywhere near as good as each other yet.

Hopefully Mourinho sticks with end of last season tactics of all out attack on them, Barca will be much less "meh" attacking a dodgy defence. Could be awesome.

Yeah he's in a more advanced role at Barca, and gets service as he makes runs into the box, where obviously at Arsenal the vast majority of his play was setting other people up with his great vision.

Still think Madrid will win the league and based on form so far and it's arguable if Barca's patchy (by their standards) performances continue they'll drop enough points that Clasico results won't matter. Feeling that they can get away with losing at the Nou but they'll have to get a draw or better at home though. I don't think it helps so many Barca players make up the Spanish squad either; they look tired at times and they still have a load of the season to go then most of them will be playing in the Euros. Might make Madrids job next year even easier.

A big bunch of Madrids squad will be at the Euros too, not as many as many granted.

I can't wait for the Classico. I hope its not as theatrical as last seasons.

Yeah, other than watching Alves and Biscuits repeatedly get shot at by stadium snipers, I think Real may just have this one. Depends how they approach the game. All guns blazing and batter the **** out of them, I'l have them down to win. If they defend and counter, Messi will wonder through and chip the keeper, twice.
