So what happens now? Does hamilton stay out and block everyone behind him? Mercedes saying they will stop again, but if the tyres hold out why would they? Hamilton might over rule them.

I assume Rosberg is staying in clear air to make sure he has life left in the tyres in case he needs to push.

The hards are 1 second-ish slower even when new.Closer than it is, for sure, but how close, difficult to say. AS the other week, Kimi had a big gap and closed it more than anyone thought, but by the time he caught up he didn't have the same advantage and didn't make it.
Also the difference is that Rosberg will only be on 19 lap old hards by the end. If his tires were 5-10 laps older then there would be more of a chance.
