Brundle's got his sarcastic hat on today. :D And I completely agree with him.

Reduce and simplify the damn front and rear wings and add ground effect to restore some of the lost downforce from the reduced wings.

Hell, even make the front and rear wing elements standard parts, 2 element is all that is needed. 1 main plane and 1 flap.

Oh, and dispose of DRS.
 
They keep saying they're disappointed by Ferrari, they were always going to be off the pace compared to merc.

The only reason anyone else has had a look. Is the new start procedure. If merc can sort that out it'll be 1,2 again.

They need to bring back testing and development. All these bans and restrictions, just means no one can catch each other. It might save money but at the same time destroys the point of the sport.

I dont think the disappointment is in ref to ferrari vs merc, i'd say the disappointment is there pace relative to RBR, i know its been close between them but even i was expecting them to be a bit faster.

Two decades ago with a lot less knowledge and production complexity you could throw bits together, engine or aero, and test out a bunch on track. Lack of track testing isn't a problem, it's people that don't understand that testing has moved to computers because it's dramatically more efficient and useful that is the problem. Parts cost a hell of a lot more to make, no team, Merc/Ferrari included, can afford or have the resources(simply the number of people available to work on them) to make dozens of different pieces to test on track if a test were available.

It's cheaper, faster, way more efficient and way more accurate to test in the lab for both engines and aero. Things that make it to the track are 99% likely to stay on the car and be final pieces. Most big teams bring new parts to most races rather than only a few a year, waiting for an in season test would delay development and in no way help it.

More testing wouldn't help Ferrari compared to any other team, better people making better parts would. Ferrari are WAY faster than they were last year, pole is going to be around 3 seconds faster this year for Merc. The problem is Merc are finding as much time through development as Ferrari are. Ferrari have the nearly impossible task of improving the car more than Mercedes while Mercedes have an epic design team.

As for being disappointed, RBR are ahead of them so far which is disappointing. RBR seem to have improved more than Ferrari so people are disappointed in Ferrari's gains by comparison.

No it's not even remotely close to 99% time and again we see teams weighting off entire seasons as simulation parts font work on track.
Ttheres tokens which is why Ferrari can't catch up.
Honda engine looked good on test bench and simulation, total failed on track.

Every team would absolutely love more track testing.
There's far more variables on track than even best simulations can include.


F1 is a technology series and it's lost that massively.
If want pure racing there is many many better series to watch.
Atom f1 has totally lost it's direction.


Now can Ham get a good start, he's failed in the first 4races this season. Even Romberg has failed to get away cleanly in all 4 races just not as bad.
