Exactly. Plus Mercedes tyres clearly wear less. Would have been better in 1st. Stupid.

I'm baffled by that. They had it on a plate just cover off Red Bull and pit the next lap.

Why try to be cute there? Just being ahead would have been enough to win in all likelyhood.

Not sure 5 laps of tyre life at the end of the race is going to be a difference maker - maybe they're crossing fingers for a safety car to bring them back up behind Max
