Sparky's new job?

Lol, you have a point there Skeeter.

While I'm joining together my dozen short clips and then uploading, here's one of the clips. I did my best to shove in as close to the barrier, so the view is hit and miss. I'm deliberately not uploading these to youtube (yet) so that this forum can get the uncompressed 60fps versions. This is 29mb and 20 seconds long. Need to open with quicktime for the audio to work.

Nice pics saddler. :) I think it's fair to say we wouldn't have bumped into each other if we were both wearing clown makeup, there were just thousands of people there.

There wasn't one car parking space at coachways, but I ended up finding a free car park at V10 Brickhill Street called Peace Pagoda Car Park. That was really lucky, and then I hailed a taxi which was £5, and then another taxi for the way back to my car, so it worked out well and no 4 miles of walking each way! :D I got there at 1.20pm and fortunately the cars hadn't started. I've got 60fps footage with high quality stereo audio from my Zoom Q3 HD I'm putting together of the nascar, the trick biker, and the F1 cars. The sounds were amazing and the smell of burning rubber filled the air for ages. When the batteries died, I switched to my phone for 1080p footage of some of the interviews with Jake, Coulthard, and I managed to get Vettel, Horner, Webber on camera too, including them sitting atop the courtesy cars waving at us.

Ended up getting there around 12:30 and didn't get much of a view unfortunately. So i'd be really interested in some of the video footage if you can host it or Youtube/Vimeo it?

Wished i stayed a little longer, ended up going after Vettel's run, but it was good to hear the cars though.

Edit - Thanks Merlin5 for the upload, amazing sound!

Lol.

RBR spend years doing their absolute most to keep the rear of their cars out of view of prying eyes... and then when the season is over and the technology they have developed has been banned... they stick them in a shopping centre for every Joe Bloggs with a camera phone to have a look at.

:D

Looks like a good day was had by all.

old cars, made from spare bits lying about :)

Here's my clips joined, it's around 6 minutes worth and 454MB I'm afraid but for anyone who feels like downloading it, I think you'll enjoy it, if only for the great engine roars and smokey doughnuts! Nascar engine sounds amazing too :)

Zoom Q3 HD 720p/60fps and high quality audio 454MB

Phone @ 30fp, typical phone mic quality and mono, not good for car sounds but good for the interviews. A bit of the cars running but mostly interviews from the big screen plus footage of the stars (peering through the gaps in the crowd :p). Gotta love the milton keynes vettel fingers, lol (you'll see what I mean)

Should've stayed around! After Webber's and Vettel's 1st run a lot of people seemed to go (thought it was finished/too cold?) after that we managed to get right to the barriers for the 2nd run so great view!

Webber stopped right in front of us then spun up his rear wheels was awesome :)

Edit: meant to quote visible man!

Generally they are stripped down in the race bays. Then there are the showcars [static] these are out all over the world in the hands of sponsors Infiniti etc. There are then the running showcars which are kept at MK and used for events such as yesterday.

There are a mix of RB3/4/5/6 scattered around the factory as well.

Ah cool. Glad to hear they are used and not just locked away. Or like McLaren, put on display, but somewhere nobody but their own employees get to see them.

I guess youve never been through the McLaren hall at Donnington then? :D

Out of interest Sparky, how many tubs do Red bull make per year? I know its possible to go the whole season with just one per driver but im wondering just how rare an RB7 really is.
