US: Spartacus - War Of The Damned

Just finished watching the whole series....brilliant in my view and some very good actors/actresses involved.So who was your favourite char? mine was Gannicus.

I got to admit when i watched first episode of season 2 i thought Liam wasn't going to be anywhere near as good as Andy was but how wrong i was.....i thought Liam was great same for a lot of the cast.

Who was your favourite woman too?:D i got to admit i liked Mira a lot but i think Ilithyia edged it for me.;)

Shame it's over now but what a great series.
 
The wife and I gave up on it about half way through this series. We just found ourselves not really giving two hoots about any of them anymore. Too many randomers involved just so the writers can throw in a slow-mo in-fight or an attempt at intrigue in between everyone knocking boots and shouting.

Might give it another go just to see the end, as we really enjoyed the previous series with Whitfield.

Yes, it was shocking. And he was in the prime of life in stunning physical condition as well.

Not having Whitfield in the role and able to finish the whole series really annoyed me. More so than any other TV related/casting issue ever. Just so unlucky.
 
Bit of a thread revival here - but finally got around to watching the final season.

I think I'd been putting it off because I knew how it had to end - and I'd forged some attachment to the show / characters. I wasn't looking forward to the fates that I knew they had to have coming.

I don't think this series was as good as Season 1 / Gods of the Arena - but then again John Hannah was absolutely outstanding as Batiatus and it was going to be a massive challenge for anybody to live up to him. It was still a solid season, clearly edged out Season 2 - the last few episodes really built to an amazing finale, and Starz should be applauded for not skimping on the budget and giving us an ending worthy of the great show its been.

Not going to lie and say I didn't feel a bit emotional at the end credits, the tribute to Andy and then that god damn Haka video a couple of pages back really didn't help either.

Great show, sad to see it end - but feel all the richer for having watched it.
 
Any sign of any off-shoots from this? or any new series by the same team? I've watched Game Of thrones which is excellent but I miss the action of Spartacus..

There were rumours after Spartacus ended, but I haven't heard anything since, unfortunately. Would love to see a follow-up series on Ceasar's rise and fall.
 
Has anyone seen any of the uncut episodes? is there much difference between them and the originals?
