As for graphics card, if not gaming I would recommend a proper 'workstation' card as the architecture is optimised for best performance in 2D/3D CAD programs, and they have specific performance drivers for these programs too.
I have been using these cards in recent workstation builds and they are excellent for the money - the client is very happy with performance in AutoCAD etc:

No in stock at OCUK but they always order them in for me.
Sooo, My delivery came at around 11am this morning so ive been a little busy. this post is from my new PCits super quick compared to my XPS laptop.
All in all it has taken me around 5 hours start to finish, not bad for a first build if I do say so myself
My back is in bits as I put some cardboard down on the floor; didn't have a big enough table to hand to keep everything in a meticulous manor
I'm not entirely sure what to do next... Do I update everything before I start using casually? is the further testing required?
Brilliant, Glad you enjoyed it, it certainly seems that way.

5 hours is pretty good, i remember it took me a good 4 hours to swap my case (though that was dismantling and building a PC) at one point.![]()
good effort I say...
Ill be honest you don't HAVE to do anything, though i'd suggest these things.
- Check your SSD Speed Make sure its running at SATAIII (non-IDE)
- Make sure something like windows defender is running, that is fine for anti-virus (malware-btyes is also good)
- Download CPU-Z and HWmonitor to check on CPU speeds and Temps. CPU temps around 30C-40C is fine (lower the better).
- Ensure you have the latest Graphics driver (as its onboard you may have to look this up through the intel website)
- Check your RAM speed (this can be done is CPU-Z too). As its dual chanel its will appear as half (1600mhz = 800mhz)..
- POST PICTURES!
All good?![]()
Don't forget to download and install the latest chipset and drivers for your mobo.

Almost done![]()
Been a long day.
Congratulations on your first build.![]()
I would'nt worry about the TMP temps, it's the temps on the Cores a little further down, which are important. Your's look fine, no problem.
Thank **** for that.
I can finally rip into the complimentary haribo![]()
You need another data cable, the SSD/HDD and DVD drive all need a SATA cable to the motherboard and of course a power cable from the power supply.Edit: I forgot to mention that my DVD re writer just came on its own in some bubble wrap. As I've got the SSD and the HDD, I'm missing a data cable for the DVD or HDD as I've only got 2 data cables with the Motherboard. (I've got the SSD as main) Do I have to buy another data cable? was it missing? or do I just need to plug in the sata cable with the power supply and data goes via that?
