Hello all,

I'm about to purchase parts for my new machine, but I'd like some last minute suggestions and opinions. My budget is £2100.

This is quite a costly hobby, even more so as I've fallen in love with the CoolerMaster COSMOS II. Braided cables are a must as I'd like a tidy build with maximum airflow. I'll be adding my current Crucial M4 64GB to the build as a recording (FRAPS) drive and may purchase an additional Crucial M4 128GB in the future if need-be.

My resolution is 2560x1440 (Dell U2711) so 4GB GDDR5 is about right?

Looks great.

Take a look at this thread, 2GB may be enough
Which card for 2560x1440

Two 8GB sticks of RAM for the same price:

I've heard the Antec Kuhlers are of better quality than the Corsairs.

Very nice case!

I was under the assumption that AA will eat up video memory, so 4GB would be best in the long run?

Also, wouldn't four sticks at the same timings run better than two sticks of the same RAM (16GB)?

Well if you can afford it, why not!

Well two sticks means you can add more later, but as that platform supports quad channel four sticks might be better yes.

Just one guys experience of course

I'd stay away from the H100 tbh, I've had 4 since Jan, gave up and got a refund. Check the corsair forums to, plenty of people having issues over there.

Looks like an interesting spec ;)

As a small side-note - I would strongly advise against using Fraps - if you're blowing this kind of money on a decent rig with the intention of doing a lot of recording, get a better recording program. Fraps will eat that SSD in little to no time, so you'll constantly be needing to move the data off. Personally, I'd recommend using MSI Afterburner's built-in record facility. The quality of the video is as good as Fraps in my experience, uses less resources and creates file-sizes that are microscopic compared to the ones generated by Fraps! You may, however, need to purchase the correct codecs for your system for the video files to play correctly ;)

Thanks for the advice guys. Stulid, most GTX680s use two six pins, however the one I chose uses a six and eight pin (1x 8-Pin PCI-E Connectors & 1x 6-Pin PCI-E Connectors required).

Also, which PSU is better? The Corsair or XFX? The OEM for XFX is SeaSonic as stated above in my previous post, I'm unsure about the OEM for Corsair.

@bJN, Interesting in a good way or bad way? :)

I am thinking about switching to the XFX power supply and spending the money I'd save on new fans for the Corsair H100. My theme is black with hints of red, what fans would you recommend? I am thinking about the Akasa Apache Blacks.

Either PSU is a good choice and the XFX is a bit cheaper :)
There's a review of the XFX here. [Its the same but the news one no longer have the green fan :p]

Fans wise, this may help:
