You can always run RAM rated at a high speed at a lower speed. The best memory to go for is 2133MHz at C9 latency. It doesn't overwork the CPU, and the increase in speed together with low latency gives consistently good results in the few applications where it makes any difference.
Here you can see this in action, as the 2133MHz memory outperforms the 3100MHz memory - but we're talking differences that only apply to benchmarks (about 1-2fps)

Get fast RAM and get the Patriot considering the price.
The slower RAM is beating the Avexir due to it being double sided, the Hynix MFR ic's are only good for getting maximum Mhz not performance.
That's not the only benchmark that is like this, they all are and always have been. The G Skill TridentX 2933MHz is also beaten by the 2133MHz RAM. As I said already, the performance difference is from nothing to negligible, as every benchmark shows.
you guys have lost me in them last 2 posts lol, that means absolutely nothing to me lol, remember i am the biggest noob on here lol, its so much to get my head around and ive not even got one component yet, ive been reading loads i just need to start building it and doing some hands on learning as there is only so much reading i can take in without any form of pc in front of me![]()
Its simple,
Buy that 2400Mhz Patriot Venom RAM.
.
Like I said there is a nice post over at xtremesystems showing how BF3 benefits by around 10fps (may have been 8.9 but whos counting) from faster RAM.
Please show me the benchmark, it contradicts everything else on reputable sites. If you're counting from 1300MHz C12 RAM, that's entirely meaningless.
You go find it, I'm not your lacky.
Good argument there.

Stop living in the dark ages.
Even 8 Pack would recommend faster RAM![]()
That's a comparison with 1333MHz, which as I've said, is meaningless. It's also a random post in a forum, not a reputable test on a tech site.
If you want to say that all the benchmarks out there on every site are wrong, and you're right, using an anonymous forum post as evidence, there's not really much I can say to that.
serious, as I have shown faster RAM = better fps.
No you haven't. You've posted what some person has said on a forum. Please look at the benchmarks and reviews on every site out there, before telling other people they're wrong.
