I dont need a monitor I have a 22" Samsung Syncmaster P2250 and I am buying a new mouse and keyboard next week anyway, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-043-RA&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=1257 and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-033-RA&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=1258 :)

I am also buying the Graphics card next week as well but I will be buying the other parts through out the year I justw ant you to check whether I can get better for the same amount of money and to make sure it will be ok to buy these parts through out the year because of them going out of date etc...

Thanks.

The intel i7 920 is £40 cheaper.

Clever psu choice with that case!

That harddrive is the fastest 1Tb on the market, I'm waiting for them to get in stock.

And finally the Sapphire 5870 is £305.

The 920 is indeed cheaper and usually I too would recommend it (especially at this price). However, with a nice WC system like that I imagine you will be overclocking the CPU to the max. With that in mind the higher multiplier of the 930 will likely allow you to achieve a slightly higher OC as you will most likely limited by motherboard BCLK not heat.

So you recommend going for the i7 930 and a better motherboard? Because I am planning on overclocking an i7 to 4.2+GHz and the 5870 to 1GHZ core clock and 1200Mhz Memory clock.

@stulid

I know the sapphire is cheaper but for an extra £15 I get voltage control for overclocking and an extra year of warranty :)

Much of the overclockability is luck of the draw, but the 930s are newer (so made with a maturing process) and the higher multi will help overclocking. It is up to you whether this is worth £40 to you. As Stulid say, almost all i7 920s & 930s hit 4GHz on air and the real-world performance difference between 4GHz and 4.3GHz is hardly earth shattering.

The UD3R motherboard is a nice bit of kit, but if I was spending £1800 on a watercooled system I would spend the extra £100 on the ASUS Rampage II Extreme, which is a beastly board under water.

On thing I should have asked was: what will you be using the machine for and do you plan to crossfire in the future? Perhaps for your uses a watercooled i7 isn't the best, most cost effective route.

Not sure on the motherboard, let me check some i7 motherboard round up reviews.

As for the warranty on the card, that will go out of the window once you change the cooler.

Some manufacturers allow you to change it without affecting the warranty.

All the cpus are made in the latest D0 stepping and process.

Thanks for checking :)

I will be using it for playing games on max because I have this annoying feeling when im playing games not on there highest potential :/

I will also use it for daily use so it needs to keep cool because im on a computer for at least 6 hours a day and I hate having my window open because I have the sun always shining into room and I have to have the blind closed and when the window is open the blind gets pulled in and out making the most annoy noise ever!

I am planning on crossfiring in the future when it is needed.

Just checked the reviews.

The Asus P6T is what you want, and its on special offer!

The gigabytes where noted to not be the best overclockers.

it's also around £2 cheaper lol, saving money :D

Also saves me the trouble of unscrewing then cleaning off old thermal paste. Then applying new thermal paste then screw back without being a fail :L PLus the black block looks nicer :)

Let me check.

P.s asus do a little add on card for £25 that gives sata3.0 and usb 3.0, its on this site but only works on some asus boards.

Thanks for checking :)

Ah, if that's the case then you may want to consider getting an i5 750 / P55 system instead.

In games there is hardly any difference between i7/X58 and i5/P55 and in some cases P55 is faster as the PCIe lanes connect more directly to the CPU. Also, i5 chips overclock well and to similar levels as i7 900 series chips.

The only downside of P55 is that crossfire is limited to x8x8. However, looking at this article you shouldn't see much of a performance hit.

This is just a thought, if you have the money for the i7 system then go for it.
