Spec check SSD

Yep that is a good drive. The cheaper Crucial BX100 is personally the one I'd take, but the 850 is excellent

they are good SSDs, I have 2 of them in my PC and had no issues at all since installing. one is a OS Drive and the other is a games drive

Hi again, I need some help I think.
The ssd came yesterday so I disconnected the HDD and connected the SSD, did a clean install of windows 8.1 on to the SSD.

Updated graphics/mobo drivers then windows updates which took over a hour and a half to install 113 updates after they had downloaded.

I then ran samsung magician`s OS Optimization, which I set to `maximum performance`and then ran `Performance optimization`

It dosn`t seem any faster than my old HDD, iv`e added a couple of screen shots from Magician performance benchmark.
Thanks for any help on what to do.

faster in general use or startups aswell? it should be really quick at loading up windows

day to day usage you would notice less, only on certain programs

looks ok to me,random read/writes are low, could try installing intel rapid storage drivers if you have an intel cpu/chipset

It seems to boot a bit quicker, but nothing to spectacular, for instance I unziped a 213mb file with 536 objects in it on the desktop which took 1 minute 21 seconds, does that seem about right?

It`s a AMD 970/SB950 chipset
win8.1

On the Asus D/Load driver and tools page for my mobo http://www.asus.com/uk/supportonly/M5A97 EVO R2.0/HelpDesk_Download/ there are no chip set drivers to d/l only LAN, BIOS, SATA, ect.
So I installed this chipset driver on the `optional downloads Tab` for my graphics card driver from the AMD site http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+8.1+-+32 not 100% certain if that`s the correct one though

I notice that On the screen shot for my device manager under `Storage controllers` It says `microsoft storage spaces controller`could that have something to do with it?
idk perhaps I was expecting to much.

No amd chipsets won't support Intel rapid storage

Latest mb BIOS? Ports set to ahci mode in BIOS? Can't think of what else you could try
