Spec me 32GB kit for Ryzen please

From what I have seen/read in a few places, memory prices are due to fall in the remainder of the year. I'm keen to replace my current 2x8GB 3600MHZ C16 with 2x16GB 3600MHZ C16. Currently going for just under 200 here for 8-pack and Corsair Ballistix for about 180 elsewhere. Think I will hold on for a little while longer to see what prices do...

Exactly what im doing too, not sure when these prices cuts will kick-in. Maybe we might not even see the prices lower on our end?
 
Prices seem to be edging down - I started looking again when a mate said the RAM he was after kept getting reduced bit by bit before he decided it was time to buy. The kit I want that is currently under 200 was over 250 not that long ago I think...
 
Now that I'm gaming 4k 120Hz I'm seeing some high RAM usage, 12GB and over so I'm going to upgrade. I am want to keep it 2 sticks as Ryzen runs better dual channel.

Choice is either Corsair 3600 C18 or this Team Group set looks a great price, could I push it to 3600 without too much issue with the Team Group?

Personally if I had this choice, I'd go for the cheaper Team Group and have fun trying to achieve a faster speed. The tighter timings it offers (CAS 16-18-18-38 vs CAS 18-22-22-42) at least means when you push past 3200Mhz you can slacken them off. You might not hit 3600Mhz but... I think it would be more rewarding to try. Not sure what ICs are on the Team Group memory.

I have 32GB (2x16GB) Hyperx Predator 3200Mhz memory running at 3400Mhz with timings of CAS 17-19-19-39 (1T) 1.41v. It uses Hynix J-Die ICs. I'm on an older Ryzen 5 2600X so overclocking isn't the best with regards to memory, as I can't unlock the Infinity Fabric which I think is 3xxx feature. Could squeeze a bit more but I like a good blend of Mhz and Timings.

But that's just my thinking. :)
 
@Firegod what I'm thinking, is even if I had to run the TG kit at spec then would it be a big performance loss for the £50 saving? I'm thinking probably not a massive loss judging by previous comments in the thread.

I'm just wary that I'm missing something with such a gap in price.

I see yeah, I mean Gibbo does recommend the TG kit - I think he recently mentioned it in the Ryzen 5000 thread as good value for money. I doubt they'd recommend it if it wasn't good so that may put your mind at ease that you're not buying a dud product. All I see is people saying the sweet spot for Ryzen 3000 / 5000 is 3600Mhz. Had a quick Google and found this for you - https://www.techspot.com/review/1891-ryzen-memory-performance-scaling/ - a quick scan through the benchmarks shows a negligible loss. :)

This is an Aida benchmark of the current 16GB set running at 3600. I'll do the same test with the new kit when it arrives. :)

Big loss? It's a couple of fps in gaming.
 
Anyone running 3733Mhz RAM? Its a bit unconventional, but apparently is the best. Going to upgrade to 5900x (once I can get my hands on it), I wonder if 3733 will still be the best for that too.
