You don't want anything thats been abused or is a rot box, yet you are looking into 20 year old Golfs and Fiestas, and currently looking into a 20 year old Escort RS?!

You were looking to save some money, so why go putting any spare cash into a car that WILL cost money to keep in condition that it will not lose value?

Concours ,Escort RS Turbo & £3.3k does not work.

Buy an e36 328i, it'll be more powerful, handle better and won't fail you quite like a 20year old Ford will! And your budget would bag a good one.

You said what I was thinking but thought I should keep quiet. ;)

Unless you are an enthusiast, I can't explain why someone would buy a 20 yo Escort over something like a Clio 172 for the same money.

I think he would be better to buy a cheap runabout and concentrate on paying back your debts rather than spend 4k on a 20 year old car that is likely to be a money pit.

If the truth were known it's probably what got him in this situation in the first place.

Jesus, just reading through that other thread and i don't really feel qualified to give any advice. OP, you need a financial advisor, not a Motors Forum!

Were has the £4000 come from, you went to the bank the other day for a consolidation type loan.

Ive sorted out my finances, sold my car. I pay out £230 a month and thats it. I have £4k left for a car.

Yeh i know what your saying but i will only use the car twice a week and want something fun that i can tinker with like my old minis and escorts. None of them ever let me down because they were standard, rot free and never abused.

Pay off your loans and buy some **** heap for £200, you only want it for 6 months.
