Spec me a 7200rpm 2.5" SATA Drive

As the title, I want to add a 2nd HDD to my Vostro 1700. Minimum size 320Gb, using it for videos, music etc. Will SATA II work with this laptop? Cheers

Have a read below and you might decide the WD Scorpio Blue 5400rpm 500GB is more than up to the job. (I am not familiar with your laptop so cannot comment on compatibility)

I still havent pulled the trigger on an upgrade for myself either admittedly so if anybody disagrees I will be keen to learn of better drives. (Secretly waiting for those SSD prices to slide some more)

Interesting, thanks for the link! I will take that into consideration

Will I need anything else, like a caddy, or a connection kit etc? I hope not, the 1700 has a spare HDD slot so will open it up later and have a nose about.

The WD Scorpio Black 320GB (WD3200BEKT) is a very good 2.5" SATA HDD, good performance, I have the 250GB version in a Dell Inspiron 1525...
