Don’t skimp when buying a bed. If it’s cheap and nasty and not firm enough you might regret it when your back starts playing up and you have to buy a door to place under the mattress!
I bought a double bed in Germany, the salesman gave this advice:
If you are getting older (we all are but that’s German logic for you), don’t buy a bed that is too low down because as you go to sit on it your legs might give way and you could injure yourself, he said sprained wrists were common.
If you like a cool room but a warmer bed, buy a bed which is NOT a divan, that way the air can circulate underneath.
If you keep your room warm it is OK to buy a divan type bed.
Beds with foot-ends prevent the duvet hanging over the end of the bed applying pressure to your feet. (I didn’t tell him the one about the Princess and the Pea).
Good Shopping!
