As title really. Im moving into a new flat soon and looking to get the internet sorted asap but there so many ISP that my head is spinning.

Anyone tell me which companies provide the best speeds without capping download speeds and having download limits?

Also if its cheap then thats an absolute bonus ;)

50mb from Virgin is about £25 a month for the first 3 months then i think its £35 a month. Soon to be upgraded to 100mb for free so that is a monster price. The 50mb package has no Caps or limits..

Sky also dont have any limitations i think their unlimited is around £10 a month but you aint guarenteed a speed. They say upto 20mb but when i was with them i only got 4mb. Depends how far your away from the exchange..

Sky has been old reliable for us, 20mb DL's with no limit. My mam lives about 1mile from the exchange and gets about 10mb, my nan live about 1.5mile away and gets 4mb. I think my nan is on the lower speed though. Just dont go TalkTalk and you'll be fine :)

Im thinking Virgin is my best bet as im pretty sure the previous owner of the flat had it so it should be up and running sharpish and they have a pretty decent deal on atm - 30mb with phone for £14 for 3 months then £32 after that.

Which exchange are you on?

Try searching the first part of your postcode on the virgin media forum I believe this is a good way to find out...

Sadly its not as common with other ISP's as with ADSL and FTTC the aggrigation point of the next work is deeper so its much less common, since they need to congest the exchange where as VM customers only need to congest the cab at the end of the street.

Although theory says both FTTC and I expect adsl are subject to the same issues it doesn't appear to ever be an issue.

I would get BT Infinity if you can get it however I hear they cap torrents. I personally don't use them and usegroups have been fine for me.

However, if Virgin are not congested in your area, they could be a good shout.

I would definitely do some research into it though.

FWIW, I moved from Virgin 50MB to BT Infinity, and I'm much happier with BT.

So basically ive gone through the bundle I wanted which is XL 30mb Broadband and M Phone.

After all the discounts via the site it comes to £13.90 for the first 3 months then £32.40 after that.

So overall with the addition £61.75 cashback does that mean it will work out at £22.63 a month after all discounts and cashback?
