Some of you may not know but I am planning on launching my personal training business in the near future.

Before I can begin I need to sort out a business name so that I can print any advertising material and begin the design of my website and any other aparel I may need.

The most obvious suggestion would be my full name followed by 'Personal Training/PT' however this is a little boring and not particulary inspiring. There are lots of variables with keywords being 'body. fitness, motivate, activate, best, better' etc.

I challenge you to come up with a suitname for me! The winner can come and sit on my face or something.

Serious suggestions welcome but it wouldn't be OCUK without some of the funnies in there too!

Thanks in advance guys,

BennyC

Have been thinking of using the same name style for my own business but sticking with the current one, for now.

Cheers for the suggestions.

Rico you've given me an idea so thanks :)

Out of interest do you freelance or work as an internal PT?

I work mostly out of a gym where you are required to do a minimum of 2 instructor shifts per month, and pay a rent of £350 per month. I do some work freelance outside of the gym but not a great deal.

Kool thanks :)

I seem to have stumbled upon a pritty decent deal of a very well equiped gym with a wide variety of equipment, massive freeweights etc. It's actually an MMA/Strongman sort but also has rugby players and people serious about training. Though I'm not sure of it's PT client potential due to it's quite basic and hardcore nature. However a few other PT's do take clients there. I've also a meeting with another gym owner which is much smaller and more commercial.

Rent is a staggeringly low £45 per month  with a charge of £5 per client as opposed to a % of each sessions charge. So there's massive potential providing this gym has a reasonable amount of members and more importantly people who are actually interested in and require PT.

My clients need not be members as this £5 charge is basically their admission which is the same price as a 'single' visit to a non member.

I can of course inform any potential clients that's where I'll be or even take them there though getting my advertising and name about will be key to my success.

Every club does it differently, just make sure you crunch the numbers, whether it be monthly fee, sessions fee's % etc. But also, like you said, take into consideration the market available at each club.

Say you had 20 clients a week thats £100 extra "rent" essentially you'd have to pay out of your fee due to the £5 admission. To make decent money your gonna want atleast 15 appointments a week as is. At mine we get paid £35/hour and get the whole fee, minus the monthly rent (£350).

At my gym: At 20 appointments a week thats £2450 per month after rent but before tax.
At yours: At 20 appointments a week thats £2220 per month after rent but before tax.

Some places like LA Fitness, like the one near me, charges £800 per month for its PT's. The girl I dated from there was getting a turnover of £3000+ a month though so still did very well.
