Spec me a comedy series >= Peepshow (if it exists)

The IT crowd was absolutely diabolical, it made me cry to think that Chris Morris took part in it... :(

Anyways... Brass Eye and The Day Today are just pure awesomeness in a jar. Seriously. :)

I have to agree with Penski on the fact that the Office aint that great, neither is Extra's. Gervais is funny, but i just don't think they're all they're cracked up to be, to be honest.

One thing that Penski is wrong on in my opinion, is Peep Show, that programme is just absolutely the best thing to come out of England in a while. Although the latest series wasn't the best really...

David Mitchell is god. :)

You must check out I'm Alan Partridge!

no u

Alan Partridge just is not funny. Never has been, and never will be. But then, i have only ever seen the sketches from The Day Today but if that is the the character he is based off i don't mind staying well away from that one.

Why is some bloke commentating poorly on sports supposed to be funny? Did i miss something in the funny farm?

He is so far removed from the character in TDT that it is unreal. I hated the character in TDT but love the series...He's not even a sports commentator. You can pick up Series 1 & 2 for less than a tenner each in hmv.

"Got your big plate, Alan?"

Oooh...I just remembered The Friday Night Armistice (and latterly the Saturday one). They were pretty good.

Hah, the Alan Partridge quotes are making me laugh. :D

Alan:Oh, well, yeah. Fantastic. 'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think - Sunday, bloody Sunday!.

Aidan: I really hate to do this to you, Alan, but it's actually a song about...

Paul: Yeah, bloody Sunday is actually about a massacre in Derry in 1972.

Alan: A massacre? Ugh. I'm not playing that again.

Classic.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is magnificent, and there's five series on DVD to sink your teeth into - and they're proper series not UK-style series (ie, finished just as you're getting into it).
Infact, according to IMDB series six is coming to air in Sept (?)

someone recommended this on these forums last year, i'd never heard of it till then.
fast forward a year and i've got all 5 series, and watched them all twice.

its complete genius, funniest show ever for me.
