spec me a console :)

Being an avid PC gamer myself as well as an owner of both consoles, I'd say get the PS3 simply because most good games on 360 are also on PC and in that case I usually buy it for the PC. I also find PS3 exclusives to be a lot more unique compared to 360 exclusives. E.g. Heavy rain, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, etc

I gave up on PC gaming late last year and got myself a 360 and haven't looked back since.
I was going to get a ps3 for the added bluray capabilites but ended up getting a bluray drive for the pc really cheap.
Not having to worry about upgrades to play the latest games is such a relief and now my PC is a dedicated media box sat next to the lcd tv.

I got an XBOX purely for friends having it. Would probably go that route even if no friends. I'd like to get a PS3 though but I rarely play any exclusives.

So what did you decide on dude?! We're all itching to know :p

Sorry for the late reply, my new house doesn't have Internet yet :p

i've decided on pay day to get a ps3... After weighing it up, the following points made me decide:

bluray
exclusives: god of war, pixel junkie, unchartered, littlebigplannet
design; matches my new tv :p
decent media center
better D-pad (for retro and fightinggames)
new slim model - quiet, and no rrod
free online play

I'll miss the decent l2 and r2 triggers on the 360 pad, but in my experience the dualshock D-pad is miles better than the 360 experience :)

thanks for all the help chaps!

Good choice. Steam account and PSN account. There's not much you can't play:)

Get some Gioteck Real Triggers - they clip on L2 and R2 and mean the buttons are tilted outwards. They're only a couple of quid as well.

Waits for the normal "what games should i get for my PS3 thread" and Streetehs follow up games list post :p

Just kidding UV, enjoy your PS3, get signed up on PSN and stick your name in the PSN list thread and you can have fun killing us all for free lol.
