Spec me a dash cam

I use a Mobius cam in mine. You can set them up to work as a dash cam and the place I got mine throws in a mount and car charger. The image quality is also better than others I've tried and it's better built. Cost me £60 :)

Same here mobius with wide angle lens, 32gb card, battery removed and a cap installed on a mini mount permenantly wired in hidden behind the mirror, dont have to touch it until needed.

Cost around £70 for everything

I use a Mobius for my quadcopter. Would make a cracking dashcam

60fps at 720p and 1080p at 30fps.

Mine is the wide angle version.

Camera 56 and add suitable microsd

I'm looking at getting one of the 805/806 cameras - do they start/stop recording automatically when start/finish your journey?

I've got a couple of different ebay cheepies one of which has been in out Punto for a number of years now and still doing the job. My advice would be whatever you get make sure it can be mounted discreetly so no giant window suckers with cradles coming off. Both of the ones I have directly mount on the screen with a 3M pad.

As for power they generally come with a 12V cigarette lighter socket to USB lead. I bin this, buy a twin 12V USB socket and get a suitable USB lead the correct length (or as close as possible. Run the lead to the USB in the 12V socket and you've still got the second USB socket to charge your phone or satnav.

As I've mentioned before I've only had reason to view the footage once when it looked like someone launched a plastic bottle at my car, reviewing the footage showed that it was actually flicked up from the road in the most unlikely of ways! For £35 a pop (Can't remember the actual cost but it was in that region) plus a decent micro SD card I'm happy that I've "wasted" that amount of money for the peace of mind.

Actually, we viewed the footage on the Punto one again recently to get the reg plate of some fly tippers to pass on to the old bill.
