Spec Me a Gaming System

Hi Everyone, I know the Release of Ivy bridge is very soon and I will up the Cpu to one of them since I wont be ordering for a while. But I need a Nice Gaming and Video editing rig for £1,500 and There's a Few things I kinda want, first thing is I require a Keyboard, Mouse, headset and Monitor! Also I know this sounds very weird But In this Rig I would like a Colour Scheme of Red and Black the Particular Case I want this for is an Nzxt 810 Switch! I would Be very Grateful if anyone could create a couple of Specs for me or give advice! :D

Well it's more of a Hobby actually I render and Edit youtube videos and Game too while recording should have Mentioned that and I saw Hyperthreading would, I looked at this List of programs that Use it and I found that Photo Shop, Sony Vegas, Etc use Hyperthreading Capabilities!

  • I'd get a Z77 board, as they're the latest and support all the Ivybridge features :)
  • The monitor recommended by Idleman is a great price [you can claim the VAT back on it]
  • Latest SSD from OCZ
  • Cheap headset, not something I know much about but I've got this set and like it!
  • 7950 is a very powerful GPU :D

Does look like a Pretty Nice Monitor and with My Budget I expected to fit a gtx 680 or 7970 in there with an I7 all Nice and Colour coded, thats a Very nice spec there Beeja Now I also have another question can I choose all the parts and ring OcUk Up and ask them to Put it together for like £50 or so?

Indeed you can. No idea how much it'll be but they'll build nearly any spec for you :)

You gotta get the K version for overclocking. I mean, SB is designed for it and can reach some REALLY impressive clock speeds....I really think for that budget you should be clocking your CPU to 4.6GHz+. It's so easy now too, same with GPU. I doubt anyone on this forum would say otherwise.
