spec me a joystick for bf2

hey firstly, hope this is in the right section, was a toos up between here and general hardware.

right been reeding up about avaition in bf2 and lots of people seem to use joysticks, me... i use the keyboard and im rubbish cant even fly with the mouse.... too weird. so been looing into investing in a decent joy stick..

now my budget isve very big as i have seen some for £70+ mine is quite lower than that... much lower

couple of things, need to have a good lay out of buttons, goot throttle response thats not too light nor too heavy, aparently its better to get one without a sping? dunno about this but input would be appreciated

so there we go any help is welcomed!

I've used a Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick for quite a while and I find it good enough for flight sims. Good rudder/throttle control and enough buttons for most situations.

I believe they are fairly popular with others as well, so best bet for a medium price range.

Although, I hardly ever bother using a joystick for BF1942/DC/BF2, as it takes too much space on the desk when combining with infanty/tanks.

I've had a go, and it makes it so much easier than mouse/keyboard

More of an infantry player myself, so i've never bought one.

I find the flight models in bf2 are a bit cack and so don't really translate to joysticks as well as the do in dedicated flight sims but saying that, everyone has a preference- and mine is to be a door gunner / parachute passenger hehee

Another vote for the Cyborg Evo, mines just been dusted off and is being used once more - although I never was very good with the aircraft in BF2!

The Evo is the best you can get in that price range, pretty much everyone will recommend it. Don't use the throttle though, nothing wrong with it, but it isn't necessary in BF2.

i use Mouse and Keyboard for chopper and i have 100% control over it, more then if i was using a Joystick.
I use a Joypad for Jet.

In answer to OP: I love my Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2. Great joystick and I've used it since my early IL2 days and its still going strong

Microsoft Sidewinder are solid and will last you many, many years. I have never liked Saitek's myself.

but only thing is ive seen some 2nd hand ones and they look to be in not that great shape but found some new ones from a different country on the bay but they cost almost a ton :S
