Benq XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz will soon be my newset addition. And OCUK is doing it for 270 posted! mmmm nice

Heard lots of good about this monitor and the switch from 60 to 120 mhz is apparently amazing like going from 1.6 liter to v8 engine!

Also decided to go with benq as they have nice looking eco stance

"RoHS Compliance
BenQ do care about our living environment; all BenQ LCD monitors have RoHS certification (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances). The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants"

Just letting people know my latest developments.

How come I havent noticed difference between 60mhz to 120mhz.... well I am blind after all...

facepalm to last part of your post.

I lol'd. All products sold in the EU have to be RoHS compliant. Selling products that are not is illegal. Good luck being... 'not-not-green'.

For my next upgrade. After being happy with 120mhz monitor I am doing next ecological step at buying green hard drive.

Seagate Barracuda Green Internal Hard Drive range seams very appealing due to:

- Up to 20% faster than other eco-friendly internal hard drives

- Up to 44% less power consumption than standard desktop drives

- Optimized performance with available 64MB cache and SATA 6Gb/s interface
- SmartAlign™ technology for easy migration to the new Advanced Format 4K sector standard

Is there something better on the market than the above? Please let me know. ta

Why Seagate said goodbye to “green” drives

“The new 1TB/disk Barracuda drives have a nearly identical power-consumption as Barracuda Green, but deliver much higher performance. We changed Barracuda LP to Barracuda Green to make it easier for our customers and partners, and it did. Now with the strides we have made with areal density, power, and performance, the value proposition for “green” drives just isn’t there anymore. If you consider the annual power savings for a “green” drive over a 7200 RPM desktop drive like Barracuda it was next to nothing. We’re talking a matter of 40 cents per year”

Ah wont be buying that one then. Thanks Surveyor.

Perhaps Western Digital Caviar Green then?

Just looking for good 'green' drive please. ta

You clearly dont understand the fact that "green" is pretty much a waste..... If you really want, you can ask ocUK to stick a white label and write in pen on it "Green" I am sure they would love to help such a cause...

How is it a waste when it uses less power and is more efficiently made? Have you started drinking earlier.

Do you have a problem reading simple English?

I would just like to take a moment to thank Surveyor for recommending to do display powert converter to VGA to get my 2 monitors working. I have tested it works. 23 inch main monitor is running at 120mhz and side monitor is running at 60mhz. Used to ran at 75mhz but I can live with that. Seems that mini display port supports only 60mhz. Good job.

Do you have a problem understanding what a value proposition is?

The green drive was greener. It saves 40 cents of electric a year; it's just that normal people wouldn't pay extra for that benefit, nor see that as 'added value' to the drive so they killed it off.

This thread is amusing. The OP is clealy mad but funny so it's a win!
