Can someone hunt this "Green" machine down, take pictures & mutli meter readings and find out what its actually drawing from the wall !! I wanna know "Green" it really is to run.

PS: Also if you find Arek's keyboard please damage it in such a way that he can't spead his craziness across the internet anymore, there will be a big box of Haribo waiting for you.

My dad has a green PC, consists of a single core K8 athlon running at 2.3GHz with 1.025 Vcore. Pretty good considering the case is 10 years old (same as the PSU), and the other internals were all second hand. Power consumption is low enough that the only active cooling required is the 12cm fan in the PSU, which is 7V modded. Doesn't compare to say an embedded system, but the recycling of old components offsets this I think.

I feel that is far greener than your PC, and it can play 1080p video with a 5450 GPU no problem. Totally silent too.

Take your CPU Cooler off Arek and clock it to 4.5, Letting more air hit your cpu without that pesky cooler in the way will help a lot. And make you greener!

Not to be taken too seriously..

He took his cpu cooler off and licked it, Water cooling like a pro ;)

Arek change your voltages around and keep an eye on your temps. Theres afew guides in the overclocking forum section

Cagerty you got yours at 4.4 with what volts please? Be kind its quite simple.

I try to be nice Arek, but with you I struggle :p

1.21v in answer to your question. However, I would have a play around with the voltages and other settings yourself to find the most stable overclock. Read one of the overclocking guides on here too as when it comes to overclocking I wouldn't listen to me as I'm an overclocking noob :D

Also I would urge you not to overclock as you might lose your 'green' credentials. If you look at my sig you will see that my PC is greener then yours as I have a WD green! I AM SO GOOD! ;)

arek,

You should've done this mate:
[youtube search - Building a green pc]
Oh edit
I should probably remove the vid because of the 'competitor' selling green ITX pc equipment, as the community here is so desperate to buy it all ;D

Optima your pc is very green on in vid. However it wont even play diablo 3?

My green pc, because I am so good will play even BF3!

Get one of these,

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-003-EN

It'll help you to keep green.

I would have got a gtx 670 instead aswell seeing as the power consumption is pretty close to that 7850 while being significantly faster. Plus then you wouldn't have to overclock the graphics card.

Wouldn't mind some pics of the build though, this thread looks pretty bare.

Thanks thezakarum for good tip, I will get a wattage use meter. They tell you how much power your using exactly.

As for build pics I cannot post them here. Its against forum rules. I may make a youtube video summoning up my journeying of building good green lean power machine - The Green Dragon.
