Hi Guys,

At the minute I'm running a slightly off-branded closed-loop CPU cooler which is performing ok, but I'm looking for an upgrade that can properly do the job for me.

I have an AMD FX 4300 CPU @ 3.8GHz (AM3+ socket)

I already have a Corsair SP120 on my 120mm rad and it looks, sounds and performs great.

So any suggestions on CPU blocks, rads, tubing etc would be much appreciated.

Also I was planning on using Mayhems Pastel Blue (blueberry or whatever it's called...) coolant when I build it, has anyone got any experience with this, or can recommend anything better?

Thanks in advance :)

What the hell cooler are you running currently? I think somthings wrong with the reporting software or the temp probes on the cpu.

Get yourself one of the xspc kits theyd be good enough for a cpu only loop.

What size rad can you fit?

I use mayhems products theyre brilliant I have no complaints :)

Haha thanks Mynight, i suspected there was something amiss with the temperature reporting... I'm taking CoreTemps word for it at the minute!

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have a look at those :)

AMD seem to have issues with temperature reporting(my old 955BE used to report 100c on one core constantly). Coretemps is normally pretty good. What temp does amd overdrive report? Most mobos have a probe behind the cpu socket which can give a general reading (obviously no where near as accurate as a core reading). Unless your running phase change or your room is below 0 I can only assume theres an issue with the reporting sorry. If not please tell me the cooler and ill chuck out my current wc kit :D

If you plan on expanding to your gpu later on as well Id advise looking at the D5 xspc kits. A bit overpowered for a cpu/gpu only loop but a much better pump than the 750 that comes with the base kits.

Or do you have a max budget I can spec you with?

Haha I may have accidentally found the best CPU cooler on the planet :D

I'm looking to spend a couple of hundred... For the block, rad and tubing

1 x XSPC RayStorm CPU/APU WaterBlock (AMD) £51.98

1 x Bitspower Z-Multi 150mm Water Tank £36.98
2 x XSPC HighFlex Hose 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 15.9/11.1mm, 2m, Clear/UV £5.99 (£11.98)

Somthing along those lines maybe.

The 4.0 pump is a great value monster. It can be a bit noisy so youll have to work out how to decouple it from the case be it padding or suspending it.
